Morning Campers, & thanks for your comments & contributions. Didn't get around to posting yesterday's budget-helping efforts, but they were as follows:
*Cut 2 hanging basket liners from empty compost bags & planted them with over-wintered geraniums. Fed & left in greenhouse until they are a bit happier with the weather. They will put more growth on in there.
*Tipped out 3 ceramic patio pots & replanted with geraniums. I may add a few homegrown bedding plants around the edges, I'll see, but I am not intending to buy any basket plants, tempting as they may be. have put aside sufficient of my overwintered geraniums to plant up 3 front courtyard containers too, so shouldn't need to buy any of those either.
*Staked & tied in chilli plants.
*Fed cucumber plants, as several little fruits appearing now.
*Finished a library book which needs returning imminently as someone else is waiting.
*Jacket potato night - topped with the leftover curried mince & peas I made on Monday.
*Did a couple of surveys & cashed out £10 of earnings.
*Made usual packed lunch & breakfast.
*Did all the increasing on sleeve, as had in mind that with all the rain stopping outdoor activity, I might possibly get my cardi finished over the next day or two.

Bah.....I don't like days where I am indoors all day, but it is still raining & hasn't stopped at all today. On the positive side, have finished my cardi, sewn it up & popped it away with my autumn/winter stuff. I will need to pin out & steam the borders before I wear it so will do that on a day I already have the iron out. 2 complete balls of yarn left, so will add to stash in case I feel like knitting a hat or cowl for someone. 
Baked a loaf. Use-it-up freezer night tonight, so we are having home made chicken soup & scrambled eggs on toast.
Oh, & my new walking sandals arrived & they fit. They also have 3 different adjustable bits so I can make them a little bigger in hot weather if necessary.
Mr F received an email with a job number for rear windscreen replacement attempt 3. I don't think we have been given an actual job number before but I don't want to feel too hopeful. Car being collected at 8.30am tomorrow....but will we get a call saying the glass fitters van is making a funny noise or he's gone down with a lergy, or he was lost over the Bermuda Triangle?.....fingers crossed tomorrow is the day. Mr F has been very firm with them & I am on standby to raise a formal complaint to head office should we be fobbed off with another load of last minute old b*ll*cks.
Next knitting project is getting a couple of nice pairs of socks made & into the presents bag as I am aiming for 5 pairs. I have about half a sock knitted so the first pair shouldn't take too long.
Cats utterly fed up with weather. Ash will go out in any level of downpour but doesn't like it when he comes in sopping wet & can't get a lap. Soot thinks that anything wetter than barely perceptible drizzle is evil.
Looks drier tomorrow. Hope so.

Oh, & tasted the rhubarb & ginger gin. Promising. Reckon it needs another 10 days.

Yay for cardi, sandals and gin. Aw that's a lovely pic, they look like they had much the same day as me! Are those the blankets you made for them? They look great!

No, I crocheted little cat size blankets. The ones in the pic were made by my Mum & sis-in-law.

Hi Foxgloves do you mind me asking what sandals you purchased, I seem to be going round in circles looking for a pair, I like/need straps that can be adjusted like you I like pretty but comfort definitely comes first.  Love the blankets and your boys xx

@Four_Seasons - I know what you mean. I spent so long deciding whether to buy these sandals or try to find a cheaper pair with the same level of adjustability & grippy soles, that I missed out on the lovely bright pink ones & had to have black instead, because the pink had all sold out. They are by ECCO & called "Offroad'. I have tried them on & walked around on carpet & they do seem comfortable, although I will need to do a walk or spend a day on my feet in them to get a true picture. I am a size 5, but like a lot of women of a certain age, can go up a good half a size in hot weather, so if new sandals were going to be useful rather than just decorative, they needed to be adjustable. These adjust across the toes, mid-foot & also the ankle strap. I am really hoping I get on well with them but they do seem to fit well & I am more likely to go for walks if they turn out to be as comfortable for longer periods.
