Thank you for your view on the toaster. I had looked on their website & thought the own brand 2 slice toaster would be the one to go for. There is another (more expensive) which has a few additional features but it is quite a bit larger & I don't have a lot of space on the kitchen worktop. I was sent a voucher for free delivery too so will probably go ahead & order.

Just wondering how you are @foxgloves? Love Humdinger xx5

Hi @Humdinger - I'm ok thanks. Haven't been quite as productive as I intended as had an unexpected visit from friends this morning, but am fine & haven't wilted by the wayside.

Ooh, a visit from friends is always nice 😊 you've been through the mill since I was last here! Glad you got your hospital visit out of the way finally. Your garden is sounding super excellent. I love reading about all your home making and money saving exploits 😊4

Us too! Found a lovely recipe by Chetna Makan from Bake Off, coincidentally a local, for courgette fritters. DeliciousCarolbee5

I wish I'd grown courgettes this year. Last year I wasn't very successful with them although they produced enough for me as I'm the only one who eats them. I do have a lot of French beans and chillies though. By coincidence the recipe I'm making tonight has grated courgette mixed in with orzo.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

@Sun_Addict - If you lived nearer to my bit of the county, I would be leaving stealth packages of them on your doorstep in the dead of night!

@carolbee - Oh, that's a useful reminder - thanks - as I have made courgette fritters in the past. I could easily resurrect them for a lunch maybe over the coming weekend, as they are nice & tasty, especially with a dollop of home made chutney on the side. I'm going to pop a note in my diary for this Saturday to remind me to make some. Mr F will gannet those, no problem.

Evening m'dears,
Well I finally emerged from the kitchen & apart from doing 2 surveys & baking bread rolls, all today's small wins have involved our current proliferation of a certain long green vegetable:
1kg courgettes went into another batch of chutney.
500g went into a 2nd batch of yummy potato, courgette & cheddar soup.
2 courgettes were sliced for adding to tonight's stir-fry.
1 was grated & used to make a batch of cheese & courgette muffins.
I am.now relaxing on the sofa with Ash on my lap.
Oh.....& NOT money saving, the leak above our landing window is back. Somebody mended it for us while here with a long ladder for another job & it has held beautifully. Unfortunately it has succumbed to the constant wazz-downs we have had for many days now, so bah to that!
