Doing searches on mortgages just now and the Newcastle Building Society seems to have good products -

2 year fix - 3.29% max loan to value 80%

Has anyone had any dealings with NBS?

Any thoughts on other good deals?

Just replied on the other post, but are you sure that is a fixed rate?
That seems very low for a standard fixed rate.

If the base rate rises, its possible the 3.29% will also.
The bit that is tied in is the discount, not the actual rate.

Its seems like a good rate, but you just need to be mindful that the rate payable may be higher down the line, it might even be higher by the time you complete. So long as you go into it knowing that and are happy - all is good.

As for newcastle, I have not used them for a long time so cant comment on them. I seem to recall them being ok, not great but not bad. I think they are a lender who will go through your statements line by line, which is always helpful in the months following Christmas. But if affordability is not an issue, then it wont be a problem.
