Good morning folks.
It's too dark still, I may have another wee snooze. 💤

Nope, no chance of snoozing. Wide awake now.Yesterday's rain was persistent, the clouds dark and a low-lying mist making outside look mysterious. Needless to say that I didn't go out.Today I will venture out as I need to take stuff to the tip. I have no idea when the bins are collected here, never have, so it's easier to take it myself when I go into town. Don't think I need anything else today but the black bag has to go. 👃I'll scan in the latest pile of papers and then burn them outside. No matter how hard I try to go paperless there's always a couple of companies which insist on sending paper. For now I hope that everyone is doing well and keeping warm. It's been so lovely to read about your Christmas times. Happy Wednesday to all.8

Morning All
Couldn't sleep past 5 so have come down and put the dishwasher on from last night. We had friends round for a curry which was delicious but the leftovers were left out so the kitchen has a bit of a smell about it! All leftovers in the bin apart from the rice that has gone out for the birds, no idea if they like it but it's there anyway.
Yesterday was a mix of rain and sleet, when DS1 and the DGC left about 10.30 he had to skate to the gates to get them open. He managed to drop the children off to their Mum's and get to within a mile of his house - had to abandon the car and walk the rest as the snow was too bad. His poor partner still hasn't got her presents!
DS2's partner is here sniffing away, poor girl has come down with a cold and the visitor they invited for lunch yesterday also had a cold so I would imagine it's my turn next week!
Great to hear you're on the mend Ruby, take it very slowly.
Hugs to anyone not feeling too good.
Hope you all have a good Wednesday, take care. XX8 -
Good morning, dark and damp here. Thanks for starting Gers..Yesterday was bitterly cold and with a raw wind, brr.Ds1 In Oz said it had been 35 degrees there on Christmas day, he sent some photos of family in the pool, it looked so nice. They always have a big gathering of friends and Dil's large family.Be careful Ruby, don't do too much too soon, no lifting or stretching too much.TA, sorry to hear you'd been unwell, hope you're feeling better now.We went to collect a parcel from A*gos, it's in a big Sains in a shopping centre a 10 minute drive away. It was very busy. The rest of the day was spent just pottering. We were going to go to the coast for a walk, but it was so cold here, and it would have been worse there. Ds 2 sent some pics of he and his wife muffled up. to the eyebrows at Whitley Bay. He said they hadn't lasted long before coming home.I might go out this morning to the shops here, otherwise there's not much planned. The freezer is full, so I don't need anything really, apart from milk.Thoughts to our poorly and/or sad people today.Take care folks.9

Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Wet here and set to last for the day I think. I'm WFH the next 3 days. Nothing much doing but didn't want to use the annual leave.
We went to Knole Park yesterday to see the deer. It was nice to blow away the cobwebs. We ended up having a (soft) drink in a 16th century coaching inn afterwards. Still eating our way through the leftovers. Today's dinner will be the turkey and ham pie so will need to pop out for leeks and creme fraiche later.
Gentle hugs to @RedRuby1231 - take it easy x
Sending out get well soon vibes to anyone who needs them. So many folk have been down with colds and bugs this past couple of weeks.
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Morning all. Raining here too and it looks to continue all day.
Not a good start to the day as I was first out of bed, came down and switched on the dining room lights, one of which blew and threw out all the others downstairs! Unlocked the door between the kitchen and the garage and went out to push the little button back in, which sorted the problem. I'm sure there's a technical term for this sort of thing but it escapes me. Just need DH to change the naughty light bulb now
Other than that I have a pile of ironing to do today and will have to sort something for dinner. There are some small lamb cutlets in the freezer so could eat those up, along with some potatoes that are going soft and some left over peppers that could be roasted. We still have a lot of sweet stuff hanging around; very nice but the temptation is always there to nibble.
If it stops raining I'd like to get out for a short walk but not sure that will happen.
Have a good day everyone; I think it's Wednesday!

Morning all, raining hard again, I bet the park is flooded but not been up that way with the dog. Had a good afternoon at the match yesterday. We set off early as it was being a sell out crowd, picked up DS & DGS, and went in the club shop for DGS to look around- he has a gift card but forgot it! He is at a special training session today so he and DS will prob pop up again after that. Met up with DB and their DGS but SIL stayed at home as she has a sore throat & felt a bit rough. We had leftovers when we got home, turkey salad for me & turkey soup for DHMay pop to see our friends later if DH can be persuaded, not seen them for ages due to illness, and the snow/ ice a while back, their unmade lane is pretty hard to negotiate as it is.RR glad to see you posting, keep at it with the post recovery period and let them spoil you xTake care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Izzy - the light took a long time to appear here too and it's still gloomy. I made it out to the tip then 'rewarded' myself by stopping at the bacon roll shop!
Well done on the YS stash.
Rosy - we have tracks like that round here, more holes than road. Even our postie has refused to go up one to deliver mail so the chap has put a mail box in my big barn next to mine.WL - reset? Hope the fault is sorted soon.Coxy - deer are so lovely to see.Scarlet - my family in Oz said the same thing though all the children came down with a vomiting bug so Christmas was rather subdued. I once had Christmas there but didn't enjoy it too much. It's not right to have sunshine and Christmas snowy decorations and cards.Camelot - fingers crossed that you have escaped the cold virus. The chap up the hill called round with some of his leftover food, he's a trained chef so the soup and pie will be tasty. I've obviously reached the age for meals on wheels. The dishwasher has been emptied, I've checked my eggs for freshness and am getting myself in the mind set to bake a cake. Maybe!7 -
Biblically raining in Wales, no surprise there, not a lot planned, just chilling with my sister...。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。Go, tell it on the mountain
