Recently helped a friend with his PV install for his Billericay (Basildon) home. 12 X 400W Sharp panels + SE optimizers tied to a SolarEdge 5000 inverter. Aspect is South Facing with minimal shading.

We both had clear sunny winter skies yesterday. The nearly 3X difference in generation of 15.5 kWh for the day is a bit surreal for just 12 panels! I would have expected no more than half that (Yes, I know, no two roofs are the same).... a very impressive result leaving me just a shade greener than before!

1) Sharp Panel roof layout

2) Sharp Panel generation curve (12 panels)

3) LG Bifacial Panel generation curve (10 panel setup)

-  10 x 400w LG + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial Panels + SE 3680 HD Wave Inverter + SE Optimizers. SE London.
-  Triple aspect. (22% ENE/ 33% SSE/ 45% WSW)
-  Viessmann 200-W on Advanced Weather Comp. (the most efficient gas boiler sold)

Feel free to DM me if I can help with any energy saving!

  • I'm not far from you in SE London and managed 13.5 kWh yesterday from 12 x 395W panels. Presumably the E/W panels don't do much in the winter with the sun so low? We've got a bit of shading similarly when the sun's low, which might explain the lower generation than Billericay - that and a bit of London smog I suppose.

Looks like quite a steep roof which will make a big difference at this time of year.

Indeed. It's a ~40 degree slope, which I describe to the owner as near ideal.

My 20 x sharp 400w panels produced around 1Kwh yesterday :) so not sure it's the panels

Hard to tell as the production figure from SE don't work when you have their battery attached which is a bit annoying.
8kw system spread over 6 roofs , surrounded by trees and in a valley.

Oh yeah? My 10 LG bifacial's netted a whopping 550 watts! Fortunately, Octopus Agile had plunge pricing for several hours last night, so we got paid to recharge the DHW cylinder and do a bit of laundry ;)

They were very quiet about the plunge pricing this time.

Still managed a 90C cleaning cycle on the washer, dishwasher done and kitchen heated via the oven for a bit when I got up for a cuppa tea at 6.30  ;)
