I hope that everyone had a great time yesterday. Perhaps it wasn't peaceful or restful but that's what today is for.My Christmas day was still a tad strange, I expect it will be like that now every year. Anyway, I had some really lovely gifts, FaceTimed with faraway family, ate too much rubbish, was careful with the Baileys', enjoyed more TV than I should and decided that I like Roses better than Quality Street. It's all to do with the chocolate. 😀It's very rainy here, high winds all night with the rain battering the house. It sounded very sharp so may have been icy.
Whatever you're doing today I hope that it brings joy. Hugs to our poorlies. Happy Boxing Day to all. 🎄9 -
Morning everyone thanks for starting us off Gers I think I might have won when it comes to eaten to much I have felt fit to burst but had a lovely day got some lovely gifts enjoyed the company played some great games with the grandchildren I had quite a few warnings for shouting out the rules were you had to put your hands up I lost quite a few points for our team and it was girls against boys but I still say the quiz master was favouring her Granda .I for one won’t be doing a lot today they had all gone and I sat and watched call the midwife I enjoyed it but struggled to keep my eyes open not a bad day here up to now it’s dry hope you all have a peaceful relaxing day . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that want them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Splendid day - decided a few years back that less is more and family just gather for the day, all happier with their own company for the evening so all back home. Great gifts and some good games - off to the seaside today (just me and DH)11

Hi everyone,
I posted later last night after a hectic day. I usually send everyone out for a walk while I make the meal but yesterday it was too rainy so they decided to "help" me. Very kind but Steve managed to switch off the oven while the turkey was cooking and it was a while before I discovered it. Luckily it didn't put things off too much, I even made a steamed pudding - not a Christmas one, a date and ginger one with whisky, salted caramel and pecan sauce, very tasty. No-one ate anything else later and I had a massive fail on the chocolates, as in I didn't buy any and didn't get given any. Better for us anyway.
Not a lot is planned for today, hopefully we'll get out for a walk with the dog because the rain seems to have stopped, turkey biriani for dinner and lunch will be left-overs and picky bits. That reminds me, I had a fiasco picking up my turkey at M and S on Friday. I'd opted for a late slot and it paid off in terms of how quiet it was but they said they didn't have the size I ordered and brought out a bigger one, they offered me money off but in the end I rejected it because I didn't want to waste it. Luckily they had a smaller one of the same type on the shelf so I got that instead.
Gers and Nelski, I'm glad you had good days despite it being different this year.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning...Ours was quiet, easiest roast I've ever made, being as I'd done so much in advance, all I had to actually sort out was the meat, roasties and yorkshire, everything else just needed putting in or putting on. Enough left to feed ten people but it's all going in the freezer in anticipation of future meals..Wateched a lot of feel good films and fell asleep to one of them..Had a nice day with interminable rain...。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。
Good King Wenceslas looked out
On the feast of Stephen,
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even;
Brightly shone the moon that night
Though the frost was cruel,
When a poor man came in sight,
Gath'ring winter fuel.

Morning. A quiet Christmas Day. Watched lots of tv. Ate too much. Probably the same today.

Evening everyone
Late one from me..DD is having a bath then we'll watch 'The Holiday.' Quiet day today - went down to mam and dads for a cuppa , sister in law was there too. Lovely long walk down by the sea this afternoon - we really enjoyed it. The only problem is it's a steep hill home, whichever direction you go.
Yesterday was a nice family day - little one loved all her presents and was so happy that Santa had been. Amongst lots of other things he brought her a bike exactly to her specifications - 2 wheels and pedals! Eldest DD bought her a pink guitar which she was thrilled with - needless to say it's coming back to my house with the rest of her musical instruments.
Happy to hear everyone had a good day. Take care all x

Hope everyone has had a great Boxing Day. I’ve spent the day with my 3 adult children & their families playing games including twister and eating leftovers (the best bit about Christmas food.5
