Hello everyone, and Happy Christmas to anyone that sees this today. 

I’ve been lurking for a while and this seems a really friendly and supportive community to join to keep on the right path. 

I’ve recently realised that it’s time to take the plunge and aim for Mortgage Free. I’m hoping that having a diary will help to keep me focussed and be a reminder of the progress I’ve made on my MFW journey. 

I currently have £135,224.34 outstanding, due to finish in Nov 2045🫣

I’m on a fixed rate of 1.79% which is due to end in….November 23 😬 

I’m currently working out what overpayments I can make and which challenges I can take part in. 

One thing I’d really appreciate some help understanding is the overpayment calculator - I’m inputting my current rate, but obviously this is due to run out in November and I’d be moved to the SVR….how would I work out how much I’ll *actually* save paying early? Does that level of detail matter; should I just be looking at the end date and bringing that forward?
