Can I take tfl to Small Claims Court?

    You have to understand thousands of commuters are in the same position, it's not a personal attack on you in particular by the transport network. Keep on top of the news rather than waiting to be told. There is always coverage and advanced notice leading up to the strikes if you look out for it. See if you can stay at work or near work or with a colleague on the days you won't be able to use the network. Perhaps even stay at a really cheap hotel or Air B&B just for an odd night so that you are already near your work in future. Unfortunately that's what it is like here and we cope by making alternative arrangements where necessary. Some people can work from home, others find ways to be nearer work so that they don't need to travel. You have no chance of taking action against TFL because you can't get to work I'm afraid. They always advise people to make alternative arrangements.
