Inverters tend to change when they see export.
That would make no sense if it did.
I charge the batteries from the grid and use the power as and when needed.
I believe most AC inverters have this as an option.
???
You see how an inverter balances the load is by increasing its output until its exporting and then throttling back.
You will probably find if you check your smart meter that you have exported some even though you have no solar.
94jdh if its all GivEnergy then I'd imagine it's talking to each it her in some way, and at the very least you will have the same response times.West central Scotland

Can i please ask how this all worked out....
i have a growatt Sph 5000 with some pylontech batteries, all works as it should, if it see there is export it will stop and use that power to charge, in the winter i also charge from octopuss go when needed.
i have built a garage and now have the space for another 6x 500w pannels
i asked growatt can i add another SPH in parrel and either share the battery stack or split them, the answer was you cant have two "growatt" inverters together i have since asked can i add a string and got different answer this time
so the growatt i have is limited to 60amp (3kwh AC) charge and discharge from the batteries but will sit in full sun and make 5kwh AC and still charge at 3kh ( there is just over 8kw of PV)
But i would still like to add a 2nd inverter preferably a 48v hybrid, or worst way just a string and it can give away any export but when i need more AC it would use the string and the hybrid together.
i know one guy on this has replied but he has a pair of solar edge inverter, they may chat to each other, dose anyone have any experience of a growatt SPH running on the same phase with another inverter of any kind
thanks john

I have two Sofar ME3000 SP inverters, running in "parallel", one with 3 X Pylontechs and another in the garage, with a DIY 16x240Ah LIFEPO4 batteries. So a total of about 15 kWh.
I am using a method I found online, where I am using an extra CT clamp to effectivelty set one as "master" and the other only kicks in when there is extra load. It works well, I can even charge my EV at 7kW for free, if there is a bit of solar as well.1
