Another default or two won't hurt in the grand scheme of things and will fall off in 6 years.

The chances are that the council are working tomorrow and Friday, at least. So give the Council a ring tomorrow and get that sorted. Offer less than you think you can pay and overpay if possible. You need to stave off the bailiffs.

And whilst you are on make sure you are paying over 12 months next year.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Good advice all round - hopefully you got hold of someone there OP?

Great news that you have another creditor saying that if you don't pay them immediately they will default you - the sooner they do, the better! (Don't tell them that!)

Also look at making irresponsible lending complaints for example Likely Loans and Bamboo are obvious candidates. And people are now winning complaints about overdrafts where they have had a prolonged problem according to https://debtcamel.co.uk/get-refund-overdraft/
  • Well I haven't been able to find the mental strength to call the council tax people until today.

And I was told "The Council Tax queue is at full capacity at the moment. Please could you call back in hour."

    Urgh. I feel terrible now.

Anyway, it looks like there are a lot of people wanting to speak them in my area.

Updated on Feb 4th for my own sanity:

    The 'good' :
    Likely Loans ( 9 x £73 payments outstanding )
    CashFloat ( 2 × £111)
    CreditSpring ( 3 × £42)
    Council Tax ( £528 outstanding). 2 payments agreed - £264, £264.
    Bamboo (  4 x £120, 1 x £83)

    The unknown ( yet ) :
Payment Assist ( motor repairs ) (1 payment £243 late)

    The bad :
    NatWest £1950 overdraft ongoing.
Credit Cards £2850 over 5 cards.

    The ugly :
    Fund Ourselves ( £92 ). Default registered.
    CashAsap ( £102 ). Default registered.
    Lantern Debt [ Sold debt from Mr Lender ]( £62 ). 2 x £31 payments outstanding.

Why are you still paying off consumer debt, rather than clearing the overdraft?

Doing it that way just costs you a packet and lengthens the agony.

The overdraft is your priority once the Council Tax is sorted.

Yes, I didn't mention that once the Council Tax is paid I'll be officially reducing the overdraft limit by £50 per month from April.

Zopa's arrears repayment of £30 is now agreed for Jan 31st.

Just got calls to make now to Capital ONE, Vanquis and Payment Assist but I can't face anymore speaking to creditors today so that'll be tomorrow's tasks.

The odd thing is that after selling my account to Lantern then Mr Lender completely wiped my loan from TransUnion. It is not listed as Open, Closed or Defaulted or present anywhere on the report at all now. There is no record. Lantern haven't made a new listing ( 1 payment made on time, 2 x £31 to go ).

I matters not, of course, with the defaults from FundOurselves and CashAsap committing me to the "6 year Credit Blacklist" anyway.
