Morning all
Up early for me as I have to be at the hospital for 7.30 and I need a cup of tea before I go, I can have black tea up till 6.30 so can squeeze two in before I go. Gers I am going in for a hysterectomy and ovary removal due to finding a large fibroid in my tummy, the op should be a couple of hours and with luck I might be home tonight, depending on how I am when I come round, hopefully I wont feel too sick and can come home.
Oh and dd will have sausages and mash tonight I probably wont want a big meal so will just have a snack or something, I have got to take it very easy for a few weeks which will be hard for me but I will heal quicker if I do.
Hope everyone has a good day and take care xxx

Morning All
Thanks for the start Ruby, hope your op goes well and you're home today and back on your feet quickly.
The weather is back to damp and drizzly but at least all the ice has gone, it was lovely to see the children playing outside yesterday, they were kept in all last week due to the cold and icy weather.
I had some good news yesterday, I bought a raffle ticket from a colleague for her husband's football team and heard last night that I had won the top prize of £300! Another colleague won a day's golfing, glad that wasn't me as I wouldn't know how to play golf!
I have the dentist today for a scale and polish, have to pay but at least it's a way to have any problems flagged up. It's nearly 3 years since I had a dentist appointment so I'm not expecting any good news.
Hope everyone is well and problem free. Take care. XX10 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Ruby, hope your op goes well.Camelot, congratulations on your win, that's a nice sum of money. It's Fate rewarding you for your good deed in gritting the road!Gers, it was nice that you could help your neighbour..Snoozer, glad that Esther is settling a bit now.TA, I'm another one who has bad nights worrying about things and people I can't change, I wish I could sleep like my Dh, 7- 8hours of completely uninterrupted sleep, he hardly moves.I slept much better last night, though I was exhausted, It had been quite a busy day. I feel quite spry this morning. Well, spry by my standards anyway!Dp1, hope all's well with your family.Taff, thanks for continuing Tru's tradition of Christmas carols and music. I wonder how she is.Visited 2 housebound friends yesterday, both ladies in the mid to late eighties. They're both ok at the moment, though one does have poor health. They both have friends and family who care about them though, which is good.I'm nipping to a local shopping centre a few miles away today, just a 15 minute bus journey. I'm disgracefully behind with things this year. I just need a couple of gift cards.Going out for a meal tonight with the husband of one of the friends who died recently. The quiz is not on, won't start again till January. We are just going to a local place, we can walk there, and it's just a short bus journey for him.I hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of our poorly people, and those finding life difficult at the moment.Take care folks.9

Morning all. Thanks for starting us off Ruby. I've probably missed you but am sending you lots of luck for your op. It's a big one too.Yesterday turned mild but horrendously wet and windy, the rain got heavier each hour, just nasty. I made it up to Oban and back before the worst of it set in, posted off the two parcels and bought cheese puffs when I meant to buy cheese balls. 😀
Today I may do a quick trip into town if the gusting wind dies down. I have most things I need apart from milk and fuel. I'd also like to get a set of outdoor tree lights, perhaps it's too late now.Camelot - 🎉🎉 what a great surprise! Just in time to pay for your check up too. 😀 I've never won a raffle prize though my parents once won a live piglet (before I was born) in an army raffle in Germany. It's a very funny story. For now I wish everyone a happy Tuesday. I hope these days aren't too fraught.11 -
Morning folks and thanks RUBY. I hope all goes well for you today and that you are back in the arms of your family tonight, being looked after and cosseted. x
Another Tuesday has rolled round so it's coffee morning then lunch day with BFF. The other friend may join us again just for lunch. It was quite busy last week so I expect today to be even busier the nearer Christmas we get. As we get in early we can usually nab our favourite table by the fire but the regulars who arrive nearer lunch will probably find the best seats taken up by these Christmas usurpers! How very dare they!
I thought I had got well stocked up with batteries but my kitchen scales proved me wrong! Yesterday they were dead so must get some of those today whilst out. Button batteries don't seem to last 2 minutes
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up or MIA. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning
Thoughts will be with you today Ruby hope it gives you the relief you deserve with the least amount of pain. I suspect we may need to take on a new role on here as official finger waggers to make sure you do as you're told and rest and recover.
Nice win Camelot I thought I'd done well when I won £10 on the postcode lottery this weekend. Good luck at the dentist today
AO finally came to pick the old WM so I can move around the utility now. One more wash today should put the mountain back to normal. Yesterdays turn in temperatures should make the drying a bit easier too.
Volunteer calls this morning and a very small Morrisons delivery booked when the slots for Christmas came out. Don't really need much as I have my Asda one too later in the week.
Have a great day all xx

Morning all, my thoughts are also with Ruby today, I hope all goes well and you're back home asap.🧡
Yesterday we had DGD all day and she used all but 2 of the decorations on my cakes, and there was a big bag full 😂 She seemed better after lunch but then had a bad nosebleed so I'm glad she wasn't in school.
I was up before the roads were aired this morning after another rotten night. We were in Asd* by 6.30 😱 and are now back home. Lots of shelves were empty but a tub of Twiglets ( for DD as she also failed to get any) was the only thing I was missing. Stupidly I had forgotten my shopping bags, I'd walked past them at the front door, doh! I'm having a cup of coffee before I empty the shopping bags, play freezer tetris and put the rest away somewhere while Mr Fix It cooks bacon baps 🤤
Later we are on school pick ups, 2 different schools and 2 different times and I have some flour and an egg to give to DGS so he can make jam tarts in school tomorrow, poor DD doesn't know where her flour has been hidden😄.
Right I'm going in, keep me covered as I could be a while.......... well until my bap is ready !
Camelot well done on the win.
Take care all, stay safe.

Good morning all,RRuby hope all goes well today and you get home later to rest up xCamelot, nice win at a good time too.TA hope you get your seat by the fire
Gers- live piglet, well that's an unusual prizeNelski, a small win is better than no win at all!Weather here is clear skies, and the snow has gone now. Yesterday I nipped into town on the bus to get a few things, but the little Christmas market I was hoping to see had all been packed away - can't see that they had many visitors with the snow & ice last week. It was nice to actually get out though.Today I want to clean the rugs so they've been hoovered and the carpet cleaner brought down in readiness.DGDs football team is having a pizza party at a local place on Thursday to which we are invited, apparently Xmas jumpers or hats, & sparkly things are the order of the day- we don't really do either so I'll have to check my wardrobe, I do have a very slightly sparkly top but it's too big now so I'll see if it can be altered & perhaps see if the nearby As da have a jumper for DHRight I shall get on with my day, DH has a few work bits to do today. Take care all x

Hi everyone,
I hope the op goes well Ruby.
Camelot, what a Christmas bonus. I think the last comp I won was a years supply of disposable nappies (which actually turned out to be two years worth) when Chris was small so that was 35 years ago. Very welcome at the time because disposables were just coming in and I wouldn't have bought them myself.
Nelski, you're welcome to come and tackle our never ending washing, things have come circle and Laura now uses washable re-usable nappies so they go on virtually every day, not to mention a sicky baby and a boisterous three year old and the washing is neverending.
I finished Nate's stocking yesterday and only have a small amount left on the other two so I shall finish those this morning. Mince pie making is also on the agenda today. I made a rod for my own back a few years ago by making them with a frangipane topping so everyone insists I make those, I don't like them I hate the mincemeat so it's a labour of love for others.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning all. I'm finding it still nippy in the house but not cold enough to put the fire on i the day. I was a busy bee yesterday, took OH to work, went up the hopsital for the mammogram and xray, came home, went out again to fetch my ebay prize, back home again, then out again to fetch OH. I discovered a skip which had several great things in there that we can use, proper industrial metal shelving, various saucepans and a chestnut roasting pan [!] and big sturdy wooden boxes..uh oh... I replaced the seal on the fire and tested the fit, you can't pull a piece of paper through it anymore so I'd say it was definitely air tighter now. I will light it later on just because....Otherwise, today, I have not a lot, will be doing all the houseworky stuff, washing, hoovering, emptying dw, take stock of what's what..the pre-christmas clean up I suppose.Ruby, hope you are out today, there's no resting in a hospital, and yes, I will finger wag at you too. camelot, and a very merry christmas to you too, what a stroke of luck! Let's hope the dentist doesn't take it off you! Gers, I see your piglet and raise you a live duck
[which made a complete mess of my beautiful white top when I carried it home..] TA, enjoy the outing! And how lovely, a roaring fire...Nels, congratulations on your win too
Nanny, it's not a real Christmas cake unless you can break your teeth on a mutant robin or two and some silver balls
Rosy, you coud just lightly sew a bit of tinsel to a jumper, hey presto, xmas jumper..snoozer, that's quite funny, re the mince pies...Scarlet, enjoy your times outside the house and well done on some sleep. I would prefer tru was doing it in all honesty, and I do wonder where she is now, as well as scamp...Take care all, Baileys for the poorly, think kill or cure

The holly and the ivy,
When they are both full grown,
Of all the trees that are in the wood,
The holly bears the crown.
The rising of the sun
And the running of the deer,
The playing of the merry organ,
Sweet singing in the choir.
The holly bears a blossom,
As white as the lily flower,
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ,
To be our sweet Saviour.
The rising of the sun
And the running of the deer,
The playing of the merry organ,
Sweet singing in the choir.
