Good morning, I'm up early after a bad night, taking pain killers with my coffee. All my aches and pains are giving me gyp.
However, the tablets will work their magic, to a degree.
What's also magic is the way that the snow and ice have disappeared, it's wonderful. I know it was forecast but still good to see.
I'm visiting an elderly friend this morning, it'll be the last time before Christmas. She'll be ok though, she has a good family, and is living in sheltered accommodation.
There are are couple of cards I have to deliver locally as well, that won't take long.
I cleared a bit of ironing yesterday, though I'm doing less of that these days, careful hanging and folding saves some ironing. (one of my Dils has been telling me that for years!)
Thinking of our poorly or sad people today, take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, I'm the same with ironing, I do as little as possible!
No frost this morning thank goodness, we are back to rain. I spent a good hour gritting our road yesterday morning, it was sheet ice. Considering it's the main walking route to the town, station, etc it should really be gritted. There are steps at the bottom of the road and they hadn't been done either. An elderly gent was trying to get to church so I gritted as he went down and helped him across the road, poor soul only had on ordinary shoes so wouldn't have made it. A neighbour and I were shovelling grit from the bin onto the road, wouldn't mind but there are quite a few able bodied youngsters in our road who could have done it in 10 mins but they were probably in bed!
Made some more lemon curd yesterday without incident thank goodness, cleaned the kitchen (just the floor to mop) and generally pottered about. I feel it's been a worthwhile weekend.
Hoping the poorlies are feeling better and everyone is safe and warm. Take care. XX11 -
Morning folks.Sorry you're in such pain Scarlet. 🥰
Camelot - that's such great work, dangerous too. Well done.DP1 - it's great that your repair is done and I'm sure that DD's place will soon be sorted.Yesterday was mostly quiet and cold. I eventually lit the woodburner and got myself cosy. Then I was asked to sit with my elderly sick neighbour whilst his wife was being taken to the Christmas service at their church. He was alert and watching the football to start though dozed on and off during it. At least the match was less boring than usual so I found it vaguely engaging. The wind was so bad and it's still raging now. Seems that we're in for a blustery day with temperatures in low double figures. 😀 I'll probably go up to Oban as I want to post off the parcels and do a wee top-up shopping. Then I'll watch a film and do my weekly banking. My thoughts are with all our poorlies. Happy Monday to all.12 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I hope your painkillers are now working. I had a rubbish night too but, as usual, it was stuff I can't change going round in my head. The forecast was right, it feels much warmer and all the snow has gone. I might manage to get through the day without putting the heating on for a change!
I still didn't get my slothful afternoon yesterday! DD rang late morning to see if I wanted to go with her and the girls to the garden centre over the hill. They put on the most amazing displays (and sell Christmassy stuff at equally amazing prices!) but it's lovely to just wander round whilst trying not to spend! All I got were some multi coloured bottle lights but DD got tempted by bargain reductions in the clearance room, intending to make garlands and displays with them. Gone are the days when I used to enjoy faffing with stuff like that!! It was dark when we got back home and DD got out of the car first and promptly fell flat on her back! It was like a skating rink everywhere covered in black ice. I was more careful and managed to get indoors unscathed. I bet she has one or two bruises this morning.
I have an Ocado delivery early doors and an e mail tells me I have no subs or oos. I really can't fault them after the debacles I had with T's. Anything I might have forgotten to add I can pick up whilst out and about on Wednesday. A few Christmas treats on the order and just hoping they get to Christmas!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up and MIA. Thanks TAFF for the carols/songs etc. I hope you know you have got yourself a job for future years!! Take care all keep safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all, super tropical here! 10 degrees! I'm going to break out my swimming cossie...Nah, I'm not, don't want the neighbours going blind...I've got a hospital appointment today so I decided against going up on friday too for the xray so I'll do it all today. Then I have to pick something up from a local hospice distribution center, then pick OH up. His cold is worse, I felt sorry for him so I gave him a lift. I was up anyway thanks to drinking copious amounts of tea last night. Supper wil be leftover roast stuff so no cooking needed and I must must must start wrapping presents..it's not a job I dislike that much, just the aching back that comes with having to stand to do it...First world problems etc..Camelot, glad to hear no further mishappenings. The yougnsters are probably mumbling about impatient not youth
..Scarlet, maybe it's the weather change that's brought it on worse..Huzzah for nice strong tablets though...Gers, rnjoy the day, congrats on finding a suitable bag and recycling...WL, well, I have learned more geogrpahy now so thank you, I never knew that was there, I always assumed London, because I am terrible at geogrpahy, thank god for goofle maps for me anyway...well done those tractors! snoozer, how serendipitous for you both! And the lasagne sounds lovely, I love taleggio, it's my favourite eating italian cheese. Izzy, I did laugh at the little boy with the elephant ears..and I see more organisation happening there s happy future projects...nanny, youll be giving izzy a run for her money before long...TA, glad you've not had a slothful day, sometimes fun is much better, I love a good gc wander, I think I might go tomorrow...[and am hoping tru triumphantly returns personally

Hark! how the bells
Sweet silver bells
All seem to say
‘throw cares away.’
Christmas is here
Bringing good cheer
To young and old
Meek and the bold
Ding, dong, ding, dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
All carolling
One seems to hear
Words of good cheer
From ev’rywhere
Filling the air

Morning all
It rained all day yesterday and set in for today as well, the floods locally are starting to come back ! its set to be 13deg though so thats much better.
Two ladies coming today and my SL worker is nipping in for a coffee and a mince pie, we will spend some time at home this morning and then maybe have a wander around a local town which is very Christmassy, Arundel for those who may know it.
Dinner tonight will be a jacket potato with ham and cheese, I have to have a light solid meal before my op tomorrow, I also have to drink 6 special drinks which will help the healing process, apparantly they taste horrible ! Will do the first one after this.
Once the ladies have gone home I will have a bath and shave my legs as I am not going to be able to do it for a while, and pack my hospital bag just with a few overnight things.
Have good days all and take care xxx

Hi everyone,
Amazingly we are downstairs without a little one this morning although I can hear Esben pottering upstairs. Without wanting to jinx anything Esther has been having more settled nights so I hope that has continued.
I managed to do the things I hoped I would yesterday although the stockings are still not finished. We are going to see the Christmas lights at Waddesdon Manor today, Chris and Crystal go every year but we've not been for the Christmas display before, I'm just grateful it's warmed up although it would have been beautiful in the snow.
Taff, it's so lovely to see the different carols and Christmas songs.
dp1, I hope dd made it ok.
Ruby, my best wishes for your op.
Have a good day.12 -

Morning all the white stuff has disappeared and its reasonably warm unlike last night when we went to Leeds castle for a light and laser walk which was ok but had i paid full price i would have been very disappointed i dont think the rain helped you even had to pay for parking on top of entry which i thought was a bit strong anyway we did it but won't be rushing back.
Today i have to drop 2 presents one to DD1's inlaws and 1 to my elderly ex neighbour then i am on to the shops to get the stocking gifts for the family
