NHS pension question

My relative is still off sick. She will be going onto no pay soon and has asked me if this will affect her pension (NHS superannuation 1995 and 2018 scheme). I don't know the answer. Can anyone on this forum advise?

    I think it's 2015 not 2018

They count the period as having "no pensionable earnings" so she both accrues no extra pension but also the period is ignored for final salary calculations in the 95 scheme

I don't know if she counts as "employed" for revaluation in the 2015 (As PoGee said its not 2018) scheme and thus gets the higher "in service" revaluation or not. I suspect she does, but I've got nothing but gut feeling to base that on

Has anybody suggested ill-health retirement if she's been off long enough to drop to zero pay sick?

Thanks Andy_L. I've asked her that also but she's saying she's not too sure. I think there may have been a bit of bullying going on, which is now making her a bit apprehensive, despite her gut instinct saying she'd like to go back.

re ill health retirement - I think it isn't as easy as it used to be, particularly if some of the illness is job related eg bullying related stress. Ghastly if that is happening at work - hope she she gets some solution
