Bankruptcy is cancelling lots of my bills?

Ok so to make this more understandable since being on the bankruptcy I’ve had my council tax cancelled but I’ve been explained how that’s working until April.
but I’ve recently had my cancer insurance and my life insurance cancelled unless I want to buy them both for £50 each which I don’t have 😢
and today without warning mine and 3 of my kids phone contracts got cancelled. I wasn’t told that would be going into the bankruptcy. I need my phone for when the kids are in school and just as a life line. My partner had to go and take out 4 sim only for me tonight so I can contact my kids and they have ways of communicating if need be. I’ll just have to send him the money now.

I’m worried what else will get cancelled now, I pay my car insurance out right for the year, I have pet insurance monthly, I have basic Virgin tv and wifi. I’m worried they will get cancelled too.
surely I should’ve been told what will be cancelled? I have no idea what’s gone into my bankruptcy
will it get easier? Will I end up with nothing left to pay bill wise that they’ll say I can now afford my debts? I’m so lost what’s going on?

Is it bankruptcy or a DRO?
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Its unusual, but individual companies do regularly check the insolvency register and your credit files, and can choose not to do business with you, if they so wish.
Ideally you need to prepare for things such as this, as the likelihood of it happening was quite high.
Insurances and phone contracts can be withdrawn, especially if there was outstanding debt to that company.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Did you get advice from one of the debt free charities as advised on this forum?
As the insurance policies and having an option to buy back is usual practice.1 -
The likelihood is that the phone contracts were on your credit file and any debt owing was added to your bankruptcy. That automatically cancelled the contracts. You have been offered the option to buy your insurance policies back for £50 each. This is because they are now “owned” by the OR and if you claim on them now any monies paid out will go to them. It’s *definitely* worth paying the £50 and getting turn back in your name. There’s no rush though, do it when you can get hold of the cash.If you paid your car insurance up front then that is not a debt so shouldn’t be cancelled. But it’s worth checking the Ts and Cs in case an insolvency event (DRO, bankruptcy) voids the policy.1
