Unusual NHS contract situation

Hi,
I work for the NHS and was made permanent a few years ago but have been seconded a few times and am a few vans ahead to what I was. Where I’m seconded now is being transferred to a different part of the organisation where there will be no role for me. I’m unable to go back to my original role where I was made permanent as that team and branch no longer exists. Where do I stand?
Thanks
Thanks

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!2 -

You obviously can't go back to a job that no longer exists but there are so many jobs available in the NHS. Discuss with your current manager and if you can with your previous manager (find them on linkedin etc if you need to) and see what might be a good fit for you.1 -
The secondment ends and you in theory return to your original department, if that no longer exists then it is for that original department to assist you in finding another role or I suppose consider making you redundant. Just check that the secondment didn't ever become a permanent transfer as that sometimes happens. In which case it would be your current department that has the contractual obligations.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
