Hi wonder if anyone can offer advice on battery charge from grid. Just been swithched on to Octopus Economy 7 from 00:30 tomorrow. All the research I've done makes me think these settings are correct, but if anyone can spot anything wrong I'd appreciate any advice, thanks

Which model of battery / inverter do you have?

  • Seems after a night of charging only one of the ‘daisy chained’ 5.4kwh batteries charged to the set 90%, even though the timer gives the option to charge to 9000w. Anybody have any ideas, the app only seems to show one battery available? Will call the installer this morning, just want make sure I’ve not missed anything obvious to check first.

  • Just for information for any future residents of planet SunSynk landing here, it appears the installers electrician has set up the SOC and amps wrong SOC shouldnt be lower than 20% and grid amps 80 not 40

40a gives you 9.2kWh so that should be fine for your 8kWh inverter.
    4kWp (black/black) - Sofar Inverter - SSE(141°) - 30° pitch - North Lincs
    Installed June 2013 - PVGIS = 3400
    Sofar ME3000SP Inverter & 5 x Pylontech US2000B Plus & 3 x US2000C Batteries - 19.2kWh
  • Sunsynk said it needed to be 80 (to charge quicker?) and set it remotely he thought it had only charged to 4.3kWh because of that, I'll admit I'm not 100% convinced but will know after tonights session. I'll report back

So, all worked well with the new settings battery charging on E7 rates and discharging from 7:30am until approx 11am, -5º to 1º takes its toll on the ASHP, last 2 days of consistently cold weather has seen daily electric costs down by 33%.
