Any idea how long Halifax take to refund?

Long story short, completion on remortgage to Halifax was scheduled too early but cancelled and the Offer still stands. But Halifax still took a mortgage payment despite never completing. Still waiting for it to come back despite being taken at the beginning of the month.
Also do you think there’s a right to complain? It was a lot of money and basically paid 2 mortgages this month.

You were moving TO Halifax, didn't complete and you've made a first payment to Halifax?
Did the conveyancer obtain the funds? How long did it take them to return them?

Yes the solicitor incorrectly instructed completion without approval from myself. Made it very clear we wanted to wait.Was returned in about 15 mins apparently.
