Is it safe to give your card details over the phone? It is a small business and l would be paying for a service, i.e. paying a laundrette. Thank you.

As with all methods of giving card details, it's safe if you trust the recipient.0

YES. At least I hope so because it's something I do quite a bit.
There's a laundrette service I use during the autumn/winter months and they collect, wash and dry and then deliver my laundry - mostly towels and bedding, in these days of my not being able to wash/dry things to my satisfaction.
I pay by card by phone. They are running a business and can't afford (pun intended) to carry out fraud.
I've been doing that for about three years now and so far - no problems. Nor with any other business I've paid by card, either debit or credit.
Hope that's helpful.
