what’s in the box doesn’t match manual

I bought a Dyson V12, the manual states ‘additional battery’ under ‘in the box’ but only 1 battery in the box. Retailer says only 1 battery & defers me to Dyson, Dyson say retailer should provide additional battery.
where do I stand?

What does the box you bought say it should contain? 

And if it was online what did the website product description state?

No idea where you bought it from, but for example Argos clearly states only one battery.

Where interestingly the click linked PDF user manual shows an additional battery.  It does state that it may include some of these cleaner heads and tools along with the picture of the additional battery.  Pretty much a generic manual but could do with a better  "* according to specification" disclaimer. The Dyson website doesn't mention 2 batteries so unless the box and / or the shop advert states the additional battery is included then there is no recourse.
