Love the signature, NannyGladys. Also the trifle dishes- nothing like a wee bit of style……and style without spending. Enjoy the trifles!

The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I was just taking a look at the national minimum wage and it shocked me. I think I am living in the dim and dark past. I've been frugal living on self employment for so long that I'd completely lost track and am embarrassed to say that I still thought it was around £12k per annum. I'm getting old!

Wait til you see the average annual salary Frugaldom, I was shocked! I work full time and earn way under that.6

Feeling quite proud of myself. Been wanting to use Olio for a while, but a person from my past has claimed all the local slots and I was afraid to use the app because I don't want any interactions with them at all. But needs must and I decided a couple of weeks ago to put the big girl pants on, said screw them and now I have my first one off pick up tonight. Hopefully the person will release their stranglehold on the slots and I might get a few more and be a bit more frugal before redundancy sets in!!2023 Frugal Living Challenge

Well the olio food collection was an eye-opener! The shop worker came with a trolley absolutely stacked full of boxes, around a dozen all full. The look on my face said it all apparently. But the guy was great and said to me to take what I could use and the rest would go to the "colleague shop". Still came away with a shed load of stuff to try and give away. Let's say I won't be buying bread for the next month!
In all seriousness though the amount of food waste really scares me after seeing that. The guy told me that last week he had to get rid of 14 boxes of cucumbers. Asked him if there was any way they could look into some form of composting for their fruit veg waste!2023 Frugal Living Challenge

Morning all
Quick mention that really high winds forecast for a lot of the country tomorrow. Charge your phones and power banks etc today, make sure you know where the candles are, bring in your wood and coal today etc. We are expecting gusts the same level as Arwen, which is scary as we had no power for 9 days, and being off grid for water means no running water in those situations either!
Take care all x9 -
I love doing my Olio collection and have built up a good set of people who request it.
some of the buying decisions at Mr T need looking at. Four full crates of red peppers to distribute, or 59 bags of potatoes anyone? You sometimes have to get creative with the food that isn't collected though. I am also lucky we have a large green garden and food waste bin for the use by foodstuffs that I cannot get rid of.Keep up the good work in saving food from landfill10
