It seems you can register without filling in certain fields (company name, VAT number, etc) whether they then ask for anything further to verify you are a business I don’t know.
As per previous threads on this topic, if the trade doesn’t wish to sell to consumers they should place barriers to prevent that.

It was the second time in two weeks and no, apart from the option to add a company name, nothing to suggest it was purely B2B. It just came up on a google search long with Screwfix and many others.
Business or not, If I'd ordered 20 is it reasonable to expect you to unpack and check them all in 24hours? I'll see what luck I have with my bank, if not just write it off to experience and spread the word.0 -

I think they've mucked up because it's up to them to filter out consumer purchases if they don't want to adhere to consumer rights legislation. That you were able to proceed to purchase as a consumer is their problem and doesn't mean you waive your consumer rights. Good luck!1
