National insurance contributions 40 years plus. Help ?

As the forecast indicates your wife is already at the maximum State Pension, then any further NI paid will not increase her SP. However, NI payments contribute to more than just the SP, so most people still working still have to pay NI. As your wife is self-employed I assume she will still have to pay NI if she earns enough.Foxyuk13 said:41 years paid ni to date So why woulld u keep contributing voluntary.
Many people who retire with well over 40 years of full NI contributions still have to make several years' voluntary NI cotributions to get the maximum SP, so your wife is in a good position to already be at the maximum SP.0 -
