Sainsbury's Price matching Aldi

Im excited to see Sainsbury's are price matching Aldi. I do my shopping and was wondering about Sainsbury's substitution policy. From the way I understand it if I buy something for £1 but its subbed for something that costs £2 I have to pay the extra £1 but then get that back in vouchers? So I am paying them an extra £1 and getting £1 in vouchers back off my next shop? I would appreciate some thoughts/advice on this please. Im not sure if I would be saving money or not? Thank you!

Tesco have been doing it for a while on very selected items but the club card prices are sometimes good.Sainsburys in my opinion is one of the highest priced for shopping so any savings will be outweighed by costs on the rest of your basket. You get a voucher valid for 2 months emailed to you after you have accepted the sub.The vouchers Offer includes grocery items only and excludes catch weight items, baby milk, tobacco products, prescription medicines and pharmacy items, homeware, cookware, picnic and BBQ ware, entertainment, mobile phones, ink cartridges, luggage, baby feeding accessories, pet toys and accessories, clothing, and accessories, electrical items, gardening and, gift sets.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Thank you! Tescos if I remember rightly do not charge you extra if a substitute costs more so that seems a safer bet0

We've Tesco online for over 2 years. What you said is ture but possibly in part. I may check.
If you ticking the 'alternative options box' I think you then pay the difference. However, lets say you ordered free range tesco eggs large like we do but they decided to repalce them with another brand and we had not ticked the alternatives box, then they would ensure we did not pay more and if the alternatives cost less they refund the difference.
Thanks

They've been doing it for a while, and with cheap £1 delivery slots I've used them quite a bit
And yeah they give a voucher for the extra cost for subs.
Asda and tesco are better for their sub policy, both don't charge extra for any subs, so if you buy cheap / value lines they'll sub for more expensive ones.0 -
Asda do mostly, but I've noticed on some Essentials ranges items have the "sub" box greyed out, so no subs just not available if out of stock. For instance Essentials crisps & cola
Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
