Pay Cut

It seems to be that the OP has no choice other than to start looking for an alternative job.
That seems to be the only absolute consistent opinion expressed by contributors to this thread.
The boss may have done enough to meet their ends by simply getting the OP to that position.
The decision, therefore, is what to do until the next job is ready to move to?
A - rollover and accept the pay-cut, after all it won't be long as OP is moving on soon anyhow. RISK - new job takes longer to secure.
B - refuse the pay cut. The employer might just accept that, in the expectation they've done what they need to because the OP will be looking no anyway.
C - refuse the pay cut. The OP might face disciplinary for the mistakes that have allegedly been made. Long process. High stress. Potential of poor reference.
D - refuse the pay cut. The employer might start the redundancy process. OP gets paid notice period plus redundancy.
E - refuse the pay cut. The employer might try to impose anyway. The OP would then need to consider factors such as unfair / constructive dismissal. High stress. Potential of poor reference.
The OP will have their own priorities and know their own financial position but, if this were me, I'd go for refuse the pay cut, try to steer to outcome D (redundancy), willing to accept outcome B, fight against outcomes C & E.
Good luck OP.0 -
