Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, enjoy your half day.
Sorry to hear some of you are struggling at the moment, the short days and rotten weather can't be helping.
The doll's house is nearly finished, just some touching up to do then it can be put upstairs out of the way. I've realised I'm more of a slap the paint on sort of gal rather than a careful with the detail sort! I'm waiting for a hot water bottle to arrive so I can make a cover as a gift, that's my next project.
You sound so busy taff, slow down, you make me tired!
We have another inspection at work today and I'm on tea and coffee duty (not my strong point), I'm sure they will see a big difference in the place, it's looking great - Ikea would be proud!
Have a good day, take care. XX11 -
Morning folks.Surprisingly yesterday was mostly dry and bright yet cold, the coldness is definitely creeping in slowly. My cleaner came in the early afternoon so I went out for a bit. I took a couple of parcels to the post office then had an aimless wee drive around which I really enjoyed. In the late afternoon I got a text from JL to say that my long awaited chair is ready for delivery 🎉 it's been on order since mid August so I'm chuffed that it's coming. I've arranged delivery for next Wednesday. It's the almost final piece for the upstairs room, only a rug to be found now. Well, I actually ordered one from Wayfair but delivery was delayed twice, for about a month each time, so I cancelled it eventually and will look elsewhere.Today I'm going up to Oban for some shopping, only the basics needed for now.Camelot - fingers crossed for the inspection, it's always a fraught time.Nelski - thank goodness your plumbing has been fixed.I hope that everyone is doing fine. Happy St. Andrew's Wednesday. 🏴12

Morning
Grief its cold this morning. Heating required sadly. Think its going to be on much more here, my joints just won't behave in the cold.
I'm off to see mum this afternoon after over 2 weeks of D+V lockdown. Missed her birthday so I have a little cake to celebrate a very belated day. Hopefully they did actually pass on the bag of presents I took over. They have invited me to sit on the relatives feedback group so it will be interesting to hear other peoples views. The management has changed recently and the communication with relatives seems to have gone downhill hopefully we can address that.
camelot will we be treated to some pictures of the dolls house? It was the present I always yearned for as a kid but never got. I had to be happy with my shoebox versions courtesy of Blue Peter
Hope our down in the dumps peeps are feeling a bit better.
Have a good day all and stay warm.

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Hallelujah I think the fog that has shrouded us for 2 days and nights has finally moved on. But brr it still feels very cold.
I had my usual lovely coffee 'n lunch date with BFF yesterday and it was much quieter than usual. Maybe the rotten weather or maybe folk tightening their belts - or both. After a string of rubbish nights I actually had a better night last night and feel better for it and I am dithering over a little shopping trip somewhere to look for some stocking fillers. But where to go as I can't face the bigger places and my legs are not up to traipsing around either. The joys of old age.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up or MIA. Take care, keep warm and safe xx

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLCIt looks damp out there as usual, yesterday turned into a nice sunny day till late afternoon when the fog came down.Hope your inspection goes well at work Camelot.Enjoy your trip to Oban Gers, it's nice there. Though I'm speaking from the view of a tourist during summer months!Lots of Christmas market chat yesterday, I haven't been to one since the November of 2019, when I went with a friend to Chatsworth House and Manchester. Chatsworth was beautiful, and we enjoyed Manchester. These trips are certainly good value for money.Glad you got your water thing sorted out Nels, you can stop worrying about it now.Izzy, you're right, Christmas is not about the Book of Face posts with the presents matching the living room! It would not occur to me to have wrapping matching the room. but everyone is different.Yesterday went ok, we lunched with our recently deceased friends' husband, who is also a friend of course. He is coping as well as anyone can under the circumstances.Going to Dobbies this morning, our group is now sadly depleted owing to the 2 recent deaths, however the two of us who are left can still chat for England. We started off with 5, sometimes 6 of us , but that's the way it goes.Hope everyone has a good Wednesday, take care folks.12

Morning all
Cold and damp here I have put the heating on for an hour or so as I cant have my guests sitting in the cold, no rain due which is good.
Two lads coming today and its always a good laugh, I think we will go out for a small walk and then we have to wrap the Christmas presents that they bought and one of them can take his home, the others I will keep here for a couple more weeks so his mum does not get her hands on them too early before Christmas ! We may make a cake too as they both enjoy cooking.
Dinner tonight will be pork chops and vegetable risotto, I make the risotto in the oven so no standing over it and stiring for hours !
Nels Im glad you got your plumbing sortedenjoy seeing your mum today xxx
Sorry to hear people are feeling down I think the time of year does not help, far too much pressure on us all xxx
Have good days all xx

Morning everyone
White and freezing cold here - not snow but thick frost - it looks very pretty but I'm pleased I didn't have to go out early. No real plans today other than going down to mam and dads for a cuppa at some point but will probably have little one for a play too.
Nelski - I had a house for my Pippa dolls made out of a cardboard box. It had real carpet and wallpaper and a table and chairs made from a juice bottle. My mam followed the instructions from Blue Peter and also made an Action Man tent for my twin brother - that was wire coat hangers and a bit of pillowcase.
Camelot - good luck for your inspection
Gers - happy news about your chair
Nelski - enjoy your visit with your mum
hope everyone has a good day today x11 -
Morning all, we seem to have inherited the freezing fog 😕 Yesterday I made my xmas cakes and my arms ached for hours afterwards. Normally Mr Fix It stirs the cake but he wasn't feeling up to it, so we swapped jobs and he weighed out the ingredients. I think it was because I was throwing most of it onto the floor because of my shaking, it looked like we'd had a flour snowstorm in the kitchen 😂
After a bad sleep last night I was up early to take DGD to school as she's playing in a netball tournament and they have to get the coach. Rather her than me in this weather, they won't be able to see each other never mind the ball. Later I'll collect her from school and take her home and I'll give the DGC their advent calendars.
I have put the dw on, but I have to go back out in half an hour to the surgery for more bloods then maybe on to a shop afterwards for some xmas bags as all the presents are in different carriers.
I shall send lots of love and copious hugs to anyone feeling down or poorly. Take care all
nan xx

Morning everyone it’s a miserable damp morning here I think these dark days don’t help peoples mood it’s very cold but we have got rid of the freezing fog well only half a pound lost last night but I suppose it’s going in the right direction I have just popped to Lidl for some bananas and they had a bag of carrots reduced to 10 pence so I have a great big pan of carrot and lentil soup on I will freeze into tubs and that’s my lunch up until Xmas can’t be robbed for that doesn’t look to be anything the matter with them probably has a date on somewhere I didn’t have my glasses on so it makes no difference to me .thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning..Went to ikea, did not find a unit to put computer on, but did find a very large saucepan which I will be needing next week. And an attach it to the wall rail for coats. I was good. Today I'm out with a friend to an antique/modern place, called amazingly, antique and modern emporium. I love a rummage....Anyway, when I get back it'll be put up the shelf time and take the carpet up in the bathroom. I want to get a drill bit too, one of the ones that drills a pilot hole and then countersinks. Got distracted again....Lit the fire, it's just too cold for me. I have entered the stage of life called wussie-hood. Booked myself in for a tip run on Friday as well. There's not much but better out than in as they say...Christmas market wise, I went on a trip to Germany to visit some by myself one year on the coach, met some friends who I'm still friends with now, I think they took pity on me and tucked me under their wings...I enjoyed it so much I persuaded OH to come with me the next year....I might pencil it in again for next year, coach trips are such good value.Nanny, hope your arms come back to life soon. I did what my father used to do and cleaned the washing up bowl and mixed my cake in there, more room to manoeuvre. Camelot, I'm sure shell love it even slapdashly. Gers, happy Scottish day
Nels, glad your water is mostly sorted and enjoy the visit to your mum. Hopefully you can kick up the harris with the committee too. TA, what's the verdict on mobility scooters? Scarlet, enjoy Dobbies..they have some massive scones at the one nearest me...nom. Ruby, food sounds lovely! Izzy, hope you're ramping down...Take care all, it's nippy as a nippy thing so keep warm..
