    If it helps, you can ask HMRC to split your tax codes differently.

    So if your job brings in more than 12750 pa, you could ask to have your full allowance applied to that, with your pension then on BR, or vice versa.

    Note those figures don't take the 10% for your husband's transferred allowance into account, and it makes no difference to what you pay. I just find it neater to have all the allowances applied in one place, and BR on the tiny pension. Also note that state pension is always paid gross.
