Further advance

Options
We have requested a further advance on our mortgage to borrow an additional 50,000 to consolidate debts.
We have a lot of debt and this would really help significantly! We have passed affordability and the credit checked wasn’t declined but referred to underwriters. We are with Natwest. The wait is making me anxious. I assumed if we got through the first things, it would be ok.
Does anyone have experience of how long this may take and the chances of us being refused. I know we should wait it out but it’s really difficult and need to prepare myself if it doesn’t look likely!

Debt consolidation is not normally an agreed reason for a mortgage advance.

Interesting you got through the first stage of the application with that reason

Debt consolidation is a veey common reason for a mortgage advance.  Pretty much all lenders allow it in some form
