Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark damp start to the day. Loads of laying water.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Lunch yesterday was roast lamb, very nice it was too, some LO's. Tonight we're having Hunters chicken with new potatoes and veg.
Back to work today, we'll see what's been left to sort out.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC - hope work goes ok..I think there's a frost this morning, I've just peered out, it's certainly cold enough. The heating will click on at about 7am.I didn't post yesterday, I was up early as usual, but I started to read the Sunday paper, then got ready to start the day, and didn't get to post.I went to Newcastle to meet up with Dil and give her her birthday present, Ds and dgs turned up as well.It was very busy, as you would expect at this time of year. We had a look round, and I bought a couple of small gifts for a friend, then we lunched in a burger place that dgs suggested, it was nice, again very busy.I think I'll go back later in the week, I meant to look at jumpers for myself but forgot about it.This morning I'm visiting a housebound friend for an hour, she lives a few minutes walk away, and I'll have a coffee with her. She has a lovely family who ring/visit every day, so she's not lonely, which is nice.I might nip to dd's later to "install" the completed tree skirt, they've been away for the weekend or I would have taken it before now. also I need to take books back to the library. That's what is planned anywayThinking of our poorly and/or sad people - take care folks.12

Morning All
After a lovely dry, breezy day yesterday it rained about 5pm and turned into a miserable evening.
Still, all the washing has been dried and put away.
Work today then I must get on with the doll's house, just the window frames and ledges to do now, that's the hard bit. Will need a steady hand and lots of patience!
Hope everyone is well, happy Monday, take care. XX10 -
Morning all.Yesterday I spent ages dealing with more cardboard boxes, all now in the car boot. I also did some clearing up ready for my cleaner though I forgot that she's changed her day to Tuesday. Anyway, a lot of stuff has been put away, the bag of logs emptied into the proper place etc. I'm not an untidy person generally, just a bit lazy at times. 😀 I also parcelled up a couple of presents to be posted. There's a few strike dates coming up so I need to time it right.Today I have an appointment with the surgery nurse for routine blood and blood pressure tests, after that I'll take the cardboard away. High life! The wonderful star filled morning sky has been replaced with endless grey clouds and showers are forecasted. Once I'm home I'll snuggle down a bit.I hope that everyone is doing fine. Happy Monday to all.10

Morning all
Seems very cold here this morning but I dont think there is a frost, still loads of flooding here after rain all day yesterday with some roads unpassable, its meant to get sunny later which will help.
I sat and wrapped all my presents on Saturday which is a job I hate, I put a series on and watched that while I was wrapping so it was more bearable, I am just about there present wise I just need a few more stocking fillers for my dd and then I am done.
Its my dd's Birthday today 28 ! where did all those years go? seems like only yesterday she was born, she is off to work today so we will do presents etc tonight.
Two ladies coming today and they want to go Christmas shopping so I will take them and we can have lunch out, I will try and get a few more stocking fillers while I am out.
Have emptied the dw and I will have a quick tidy before my guests arrive.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
Morning everyone
Dry and chilly this morning - I have washing to hang out before I go to work. Had a lovely couple of hours with little one yesterday - she was full of her new baby sister - and seemed most impressed with her. She kept telling me things she obviously thought I didn't know - 'babies have a cord sticking out their tummies granny' and 'granny babies heads are soft you must never ever press them!'
We went for a walk with her bike which she loved.
Eldest DD has been sending photos of the Christmas market in Nuremberg - she was surprised how big it is - she says its really busy. I'll have to try to go and see it next Christmas before she decides to move again!
Well done with your present wrapping Redruby - I just bought the paper yesterday! I went in the cupboard expecting to find some as I usually buy it half price in the January sales, but I mustn't have done this year - most strange. I haven't actually checked on the card situation yet - better do that later!
Well I need to get sorted - hope everyone has a good day x9 -
Morning everyone thick fog here today I got a load of washing dry on the airier yesterday it’s toasty in here with the log burner lit I have got to grips with my new phone I think it has only taken me two days I am waiting for my new case to come then I will use it for the time been it will be like a house phone can you tell me and technology don’t get on it took me years to fathom out how to get on here . Im meeting my friend for a coffee this morning I’m not at work until 12 there must be plenty of people still going away because we are still really busy with laundry from b &bs and hotels and holiday let’s it’s usually starting to go a bit quieter by now but there’s no sign of it’s slowing down although in the winter we always get a lot of dark suits and coats in for dry cleaning there always seems to be more funerals always something to keep us busy. I’ve got a small gammon joint out for later we will have new potatoes and salad but there will be enough on it for a sandwich for a couple of days for the hubby I have got carrot and lentil soup made . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning
Happy birthday Miss Ruby
Also spent yesterday dismantling boxes Gers. Managed to shove them all in the recycling so lounge looks a bit better. Up early this morning so I watched the jungle final before I saw the news which of course had spoilers all over.
Just got a few more things to store away then it will be job done.
The water issues are ongoing. United utilities didn't turn up last week surprise surprise so Im ready for a bit of a row today. Not being able to turn off the water should anything happen really prays on my mind.
No real plans today but loads to do if that makes sense.
Have a good day all x10 -
Morning...The curtains fitted exactly how I wanted them to [more luck than judgement] and they're doing a fine job of blacking the light out. There's another curtain rail to move and a couple more curtains to hang. I'll do that after Oh has gone to work. No sewing required thank god. I also have to root out my plumbing spanner and tighten one of the taps in the bathroom, after the understairs clear out, I know exactly where it is, minor miracle that. Then I start the big tidy....Ikea tomorrow with OHs mum and her friend, somewhere else on Wednesday, a massive antique and flea market type thing, looking for something for my sister. And two pairs of curtains to go on ebay once the money off fees message cycles round again.Izzy, I got myself an airer to do exactly the same thing. The weather this week looks set to be freezing, so plenty of opportunity to fire up the burner
Ruby, enjoy the day out! Gers, you're allowed ot be untidy, we're not the house beautiful police
Scarlet, well done on the skirt and how lucky for your friend...snoozer, go get yourself looked at asap....glad you're better in other ways though...Nels, hope your mum is doing OK and you get to visit soon. Nanny, where are you? Take care all the missing and unwell, as for the rest, boogie till your appendages drop off...

-taff I'm still about ! Thanks for asking about me.
Hello all, sorry to have been MIA but I had a bout of the doldrums, got my knickers in a twist about xmas as I hadn't sorted anything and then was laid low by the covid jab.
Today I have already stripped the bed, washed the bedding and hung it out, don't know if it will dry though as is quite cold but there is intermittent sun🤞. I've also had a sm delivery this morning and put it away, I thought I'd arranged that for tomorrow 🙄. Later I shall re- make the bed and clean the bedroom and then help Mr Fix It put some poppers on our lap blankets. They're lovely and warm and big enough to use triple over you, but you end up fighting with it trying to keep it straight (well I do)
I've tried to read along but the only thing that's stuck in my head is Snoozers new DGD, Esther (love that name) so congrats to your family and especially your DD.
Take care all
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Lovely to see you back Nan, sorry you've been a bit rough. Think the time of year doesn't help, low sunshine, lots of bad weather and darkness!Taff - I'm not generally untidy but hate it. I can live with dust but not mess. Trouble is that I open letters and then wait until there's too many so they fall over, then I scan them.My appointment with the nurse was not good, blood pressure too high so have to do it at home three times a day for four days and report back next Monday.
Blood taken OK.
The sun is bright though cold. I've got the front door open for some air and a blooming fly zoomed straight in. It'll be flying around upstairs just to annoy me!I've joined up with a 'body science' system to check on my blood fat, blood sugar and gut responses to what I eat. Should be interesting if nothing else. I seem to shift up and down the same five pounds so need a push, trouble is I'm an emotional eater so any setback (perceived or real) turns me to food. Need to sort out mind over matter more. When I was driving past the field outside I noticed a bright yellow sheep in amongst the others, it made me laugh as I suppose that it's the tup out to do his tupping duty. He was sitting down, perhaps worn out.Now for my lentil soup and a couple of DR sausages, they're very meaty.8
