Generally take the train from Euston (I live SW20) to Manchester however my next journey it looks like there is engineering works,
I am thinking of partially driving to manchester and parking outside the city. I will be staying in Manchester Victoria for a couple of nights, and then Manchester Picadilly. Wondered if anyone had recommendations on where to park/ride.
Thanks

Have a look at a metro map. Altrincham, Timperley, Brooklands, Dane Road all have big wide residential roads within 5 mins walk of the stations where you’re not going to bother anyone. In Altrincham I’d park on or around Groby Road. Easy enough to come off the M6 and park then jump onto the tram.Sale Water Park has a large car park which is free, not sure about overnight rules, but suspect there are more details online.1

East Didsbury tram stop has a big park and ride area and is easy to get to from the M56.
