Morning folks, the wind is still blowing a hooley outside, it didn't much stop yesterday. I'm still under my duvet, I've had my coffee and am now just lounging!
For now, happy Sunday to all.

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Where is everybody this morning? No wind nor rain here but it's looking very miserable out there and the local wm says we will have a dry and sunny day. I am having my doubts on that!
When I can summon up some energy I want to get my bed stripped and fresh bedding on. Once done the wet washing will festoon the back bedroom as usual and I will get the dehumidifier on. It still amazes me how much water it collects.
Not a lot else planned other than meal making so it will be the usual Slothful Sunday. I do dislike Sundays.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up or MIA. Take care all xx

Morning everyone
It was wild here when I went to bed but it's calm now - forecast is for sunshine but it's very dull just now.
Got a few bits for Christmas yesterday - but left my shopping list on the kitchen table which wasn't helpful. I bought tickets for the pantomime for myself and little one for the weekend before Christmas. It's Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves - so not a story she knows but I can explain it before we go. Also put my name down to steward for a couple of performances.
Yesterday afternoon I sorted through the presents I've bought and discovered I've no wrapping paper - I usually buy it in the sales but mustn't have done. Will have to check to see if I got cards...
Right I need to make a chicken casserole to go in slow cooker and peel potatoes ready for mashing...little one will be here for tea later. Then I'm going down to mam and dads for a cuppa and to do his email to DD in Germany.
Hope everyone has a good day x8 -
Morning everyone it’s a dull miserable day I have all the housework to do will start at the top and work my way down then I have a small roast I will do with veg and Yorkshire puddings later and I need to make a pan of soup for lunches this week didn’t get a lot done yesterday son called on the morning then a lady who’s dog we have looked after for 4 nights came and picked him up in the meantime my phone gave up completely it’s never worked properly for the last year but it is out of the ark so I bit the bullet and went and got a new one it’s 3 pounds dearer a month but hubby got a new sim only deal which was 5 pounds cheaper so it worked out alright but the phone shop was busy and I hadn’t changed my address then because my phone wouldn’t charge they were struggling to get everything off it to go on the new one but they were very nice and got everything done but it took a couple of hours and it’s nearly two hours there and back so that was the day gone but I have got a phone to be honest I get wrong off the family because I couldn’t care a less if I have one or not they ring me on it but it never gets used except for my Lidl app . I do miss the pantomime dp1 my grandchildren are to old now and not interested but I took them for years . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing6

Two and a bit hours later and the wind has gone, only a slight breeze left to move the branches around. The forecast is also showing a dry day.TA - I too stripped my bed, I even turned the mattress horizontally, it took a wee while but it's done. Next time it'll need turned over so it'll have to wait until I can rope someone in to help. For once I got a bit tangled up in the duvet cover, it's my new linen one and doesn't behave the way that cotton does, or maybe I'm just getting feeble. My cleaner is coming tomorrow so I'm not going to do the washing load today. If it doesn't dry it'll have to go in the spare room on the airer and over the bannister and I don't want it cluttering up her work, or showing off my knickers! Tuesday also has a decent forecast, so far, which will be perfect. The soup and sausages have defrosted overnight, the sausages will be going in the oven later and I'll slice a couple into my lentil soup for lunch. There's a couple of old Terry Thomas films on this afternoon - School for Scoundrels and The Titfield Thunderbolt. Perhaps I'll settle to watch them. EDIT - films are nothing to do with Terry Thomas!Today is the first advent Sunday so I'll dig out the wreath that my DM gave me in 1987. It has four candles, one is lit each Sunday (one, then two then three) until it's Christmas when all four will be lit. I'm not really a Christmassy person, nor do I have any faith, but the wreath is very comforting and evokes a lot of my childhood when my family were together. DM used the much more utilitarian wooden advent candle holder from her younger days though she soon bought the same one as she gave me - much prettier.DP1 - well done on getting panto tickets, I'm sure that the little one will love it all. Perhaps your DD in Germany knows about Advent wreaths from her neighbours or work colleagues or friends.Right, off to boil a couple of eggs for breakfast and search the freezer for a loaf of bread which I saw the other day and now can't find - gremlins!7

Morning all. I have finally done the curtains, and to be honest, I dont;care if they look horrible or don't fit, I am never doing a doubl extension on a curtain again. Haven't seen OH most of the [long] weekend, he's been helping a friend to paint his flat and the friend, instead of doing the sensible thing and trying out colours, bought a load of paint, decided it was too dark, bought another load of paint and painted over it again. Now on occasion I can be a wasteful trollop but...Today I'm treating myself to a visit to any DIY type shop, I've decided I'm putting some vinyl down in the bathroom upstairs, it will be better than the manky carpet that's in there [there's no point doing anything really nice in there becasue the pipework for the boiler goes through above the floor, there's a hole in the floor under the shower, and when rewiring and replumbing/radiators takes place, everything will be ripped out. But I am fed up with the floor being so yuk. So 2m of vinyl will do nicely. That's my wasteful trollopness for the weekend.TA, you've got to grab a Sunday by the short and curlies and throw it around until it gives in
Izzy, I don't know whether I'm glad or not you have anew phone but I'm glad it was mse
Happy birthday to your son Scarlet and your many family members Ruby. Gers, you might be able to sell it online, people like carding it apparently, or felting with it. Well done on weightloss Coxy, shame about the lead
Right, I'm going to drink more tea and enjoy the new keyboard, all future mistakes are mine alone...Take care all, mia or not....

Hi everyone,
taff, we've got some vinyl to go down in the hall to replace the carpet which has been wrecked by buggies and toddler feet - there is no clearance under the door for a mat. Unfortunately Steve's foot hasn't allowed him to do the job yet.
Gers, we had a few of those wool things when we bought meals from restaurants in lockdown. Well done on finding a use for them.
Enjoy the panto dp1.
I didn't have a great day yesterday, I've had an ongoing stomach problem which flared up yesterday and has been bad all week. I'm pretty sure it's related to stress but I shall ring my great doctor on Tuesday and ask for an endoscopy - she made it clear last time we talked that she's refer me when I wanted so I think it's time now.
We've got Brian's youngest brother coming to meet the baby and stay the night tonight. He's almost twenty years younger than Brian but they are quite close.
Have a good day.8 -
Afternoon Everyone
Later one from me today, I had the little one last night. We went to the christmas light switch on in the town, a small affair and we were only out for an hour. We walked down, saw the lights go on and she had a couple of turns on one of the rides which she absolutely loved and walked home again. Bath, some stories and bed, she slept quite well.
Hope you enjoyed your family gathering Ruby.
Well done on the new phone Izzy, I hate doing anything like that.
Feel better soon snoozer, hope the doc refers you and you get some answers. Glad Steve's foot is recovering.
Once I had taken the little one home I cracked on with the housework, 3 loads of washing out on the line which is nearly dry. Windows were all opened for a couple of hours so the house feels better. The fire is lit so it the washing can air off over the evening, great to have that fresh smell in the house. Everything dusted and hoovered and the bed remade. I'm going to have a relaxing evening.
Enjoy the rest of Sunday, take care. XX6
