Hello again, coffee made. It's dry so far, looks to be a bit windy though. Yesterday wasn't bad, I got some washing half dry, not bad at this time of year.Yesterday was an ok day, I did a bit of housework and some sewing, Dd's tree skirt is finished and I've got some fabric out to make one for our tree. .I also cut out some little stockings to make and decorate as tree decs. We've got appointments for Covid jabs this morning, and Dh will go to his hobby club for the rest of the morning. It's my eldest Ds's birthday today, he's in Australia so now has a summer birthday, They are going away for the weekend to the Central coast. That's about it from me today - hope everyone has a good day, and any poorly or sad people will feel better soon.Take care folks.10

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for kicking off. Well, against the odds, I am typing this on my new laptop!! After numerous nervous breakdowns and threatening to throw it out of the window, I can now roam the 'net and email! I have yet to get it to connect to the printer so that's today's ordeal!
I have an early doors Ocado delivery this morning and an email tells me I have nothing missing and one sub - different sugar snaps. I can live with that! I have been doing my best to eat all the silly bits and pieces in the big freezer so I have treat myself to a few M & S things on my delivery now there is a bit of room for them and I can at last find what I am looking for! (the smaller freezer is a different story sadly!)
DD, her DP and the girls (plus eldest's bf) are in London for a long w/e. Lots of photos have been winging their way to me. Last night it was Winter Wonderland, tonight all booked to see The Verve again, with lots of sight seeing in among. It all sounds too tiring for me these days!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up or MIA. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning folks. It's still fairly wild outside just not as bad as yesterday.I waited in for my delivery which came at about 4pm, the food was beginning to defrost so I got it in the freezer PDQ. When I ordered I opted for the 'eco' packaging, an idea which intrigued me. This was a cardboard box rather than a polystyrene one and some insulation which is long strips of a form of matted wool. This wool smells very sheepy but I'm trying to work out if it can be turned into something useful. This morning I'm going to sit with my elderly friend for a wee while. His wife and DIL will go shopping so I'll take a book to read as I'm sure he'll sleep at some point.TA - lovely to read about the London adventures, the energy of the young is something I miss.Snoozer - thanks for the update on all your family, it's great to hear of the progress of all the babies and Steve. I hope that you're taking care of yourself too.Time for another coffee before I fully rouse myself. I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Saturday to all.11

Morning and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
It's FC this morning - I think TOTM is around the corner so I don't think it'll be a loss this week. We will go to Brighton for lunchtime to see DD and visit the Christmas market - mulled wine will be consumed!
Great that you've managed to set up the new lappie @TravellingAbuela - I have been doing this x100 for work colleagues since Thursday's data migration at work.
Didn't realise there was an eco-friendly packaging option for DR @Gers - will remember that for next time.
Hugs to everyone needing one and have a good day.

Morning all
TA - well done sorting out your new laptop
Gers - it's so kind of you to sit with your elderly friend so his wife can get a break.
Scarlet Ribbons - well done getting your tree skirt finished. I turned our den at nursery into an igloo yesterday!
Little one is away to her daddys in Glasgow this weekend so all quiet here. Her new baby sister was born this week so she is very excited to meet her. She already has an older half brother - some children have complicated lives don't they?
I'll go into town for some Christmas things this morning then will sort out what I still need to buy.
Laptop has just pinged to say it needs plugged in so I'll wish you all a good day before it switches itself off x10 -
Morning all
Not raining atm but due to start at lunch time and all evening, the washing will have to be hung on the airer.
Got my sister and her partner and mum coming tonight for food and to celebrate all of the Birthdays, its my dd's monday my bil's Thursday and OH on Friday ! mums was last week and the twin nephews on Tuesday so a busy time of the year ! We are having prawn saganaki which dd will make, she made the sauce yesterday so just the prawns to add and heat up, I will do some garlic bread and a big salad, while we were in Greece I bought some chestnuts in syrup from a monestary which we will have for pudding with some vanilla ice cream so a fairly easy but tasty meal.
DD is working today so OH and I will have a clean through and he will take the dogs out for a long walk, I am going to get all the Birthday / Christmas presents out and wrap as much as I can and see what I have left to buy.
Have good days all and take care xxx7 -
A quick de-lurk - Gers wrote

I tried putting some outside when birds were starting to look for nesting material. They loved it, and it was very entertaining watching them fly off with long trailing wispy moustaches!

I don't use Twitter so can see what others have done but, for now, I'll use them as a for of sausage dog until the Spring comes.I sat with my elderly neighbour for almost three hours, he was sometimes asleep and sometimes awake. He wanted to watch the football so I sat reading. He was obviously hungry so I got him the cake that someone had left on Thursday - ate it all - put out a large pile of cashew nuts - ate it all - and finally he dug into a glass jar of boiled sweets - ate loads! I put some sweets into a small plastic pot as getting one or two out of the large glass jar was not really worth the effort. My lunch is now in the oven, it's the last of the lasagna, and have brussels waiting to be microwaved. I've taken some frozen lentil soup and Cumberland sausages out of the freezer for tomorrow and Monday.Ruby - what a houseful! I hope that all goes well and you can enjoy the family gathering without too much hassle.DP1 - yes, I understand family complications resulting from more than one relationship!TA - happy new laptop.5

0.5lb loss for me at FC. Went to see DD in Brighton. Forgot the !!!!! dog lead so DH had to carry him down the stairs from the rooftop car park and sit in a pub with DD (shame) whilst I went to buy one. Hand made leather lead £40!!!Had a nice lunch and wandered around the Christmas Fayre with some mulled wine. Got DD a couple of Christmas presents which was good.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings5
