Hildebrand Bright

I have lost my connection today. Bright has failed. I have to add a network called Glow-BE4C7C. I have done it several times before, but today I cannot add that network. Can anyone help, please?
I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".

Yes, I have a Chamaeleon IHD and Geo is currently trying to get a Trio IHD to connect to work with my Drayton Wiser system. Is there a conflict?

    It's working OK for me.

I've had the app claiming that it's lost connection to its own network or my local network or both in the past.   I've found that I can either mess about for hours trying to reconnect or just switch it off for several hours when it seems to recover on its own !

Thank you for confirming that yours works. Yes, I have tried for several hours. I will leave it for now and try again in a few days. In the meantime, Octopus has some online stats that are not quite as good (and which are slightly different numerally than Bright), but I will have to make do with them.

P.S. I am not quite sure what the Glow network does. Is it just for setup, or is it a permanent requirement?

I'm not really sure what it does either !  Even though Bright seems to be working OK there's no sign of another network I could join.

I'd suggest you contact Glow support (support@glowmarkt.com )  if it still won't connect.

Never really understood why Octopus can get 3 decimal places in their results but when I download half-hourly meter readings from Glow I only get 1 dp plus 0 or 5 in second.

  • I wonder whether I have a meter problem because Octopus has also failed to collect stats since 24th. I wonder whether Geo hasn't had the network rebooted because that's another device that is failing to connect.

Plausible - but again Glow support  should be able to help.

IF you get a helpful operator,  Octopus should also be able to help and might even reboot meter for you.

Thank you, again. You were spot on. Shortly after I gave up completely, the app just reconnected.

Don't ask how many times that's happened to me !  The more I try to follow their 'instructions' , the less likely it becomes that it reconnects (but it usually runs for months without problems).
