Split-My-Fare, reputable? I think not!

Any split fare ticket experts out there? I've just tried to buy a ticket using the above site only to find that what it's offered me is a ticket which they say is flexible travelling at the times I've chosen for £37.70. But then you look at the ticket details it states it's off-peak return. The return journey clearly says @17:54! This is certainly not off-peak so this ticket is almost certainly invalid.

What am I missing?

There are no fixed peak times, as the above link shows you need the ticket restrictions before assuming anything.

On many/most routes the only peak restriction is during the morning rush hour.

I work as a rail fares support analyst, if that counts.

The ticket type Off Peak Return does not, by itself, indicate when a ticket is valid.

In order to know when a ticket is valid, we need to know the flow (i.e. origin, destination and potentially the routeing on the ticket) as well as the ticket type; the combination of factors will have associated data which is taken into account when you book any train ticket on any accredited website.

It's very common for Off Peak Returns to either have no time restrictions at all in the evening (as in this case) or failing that, no time restrictions in the direction towards London.

The ticket shown in the screenshot is absolutely valid for the itinerary shown.

It would seem that any further advice for the OP would be a waste of time; the last time they bothered to log in was before the first reply.
