Slow cooker or oven?

Been reading advice to ise the slow cooker to save on energy. However just read an article in The Sun newspaper app which said to use an electric oven (mine is gas, doesn't give figures for gas) is £66 per year daily for 30 minutes use. Yet it says a slow cooker on for 8 hours, which I thought was energy saving is £13.80 per month used daily, which unless my math is bad costs more, and you can fit more and put variety in an oven. I would Imagine if the slow cooker price is correct then even a gas oven would cost less. I am so confused over all of the advice being thrown out there and also don't understand how a family of five can make a meal in an air fryer without using the oven partially, defeating the purpose of purchase. Got the ninja foodi max air fryer and grill and have not found a full meal for 5 I can fit within it

Sorry I can't really help except to say that I know the cheapest method is using a microwave because generally you only use it for a few minutes.

To put the oven price (use) in context who uses an oven for just 30 minutes?
Firstly it has to heat up to reach the required temperature. Gas is cheaper than electric so I think using the gas hob is a reasonable price.

have you seen Jamie Oliver's £1 meals programme? - he had some fuel pricings on there- September figures, but it might give you some ideas. Plus some of the meals he made looked good

Slow cooker- is that on high or low setting?

Maybe you can cook a meal for 5 in the air fryer (I don't have one) and cook the veg in the microwave

Watched a u-tube video of someone making bacon & egg on toast in one... Took 10 mins to cook (if thick bacon needs longer) Max of 5 mins in frying pan & toaster...
    Great money saving idea. Not...

Fan oven does not require pre-heating 👍
