Not sure if this is place to ask this but you guys seem to know your shopping!!!
Ordered a vacumn cleaner from amazon it was a week late in delivery so phoned up and had a go telling operator if it didn't arrive in two days I wanted a refund!!
Next day the cleaner turned up and was signed for!! (inc completed invoice etc to show I had paid)
The following day a 2nd one turns up with an invoice showing all zeros so I have not paid for it.
Now morally I know I should contact them and send it back but!!!!
Never one to look a gift horse in the mouth Amazon have not charged me for the second one no one has been in contact to arrange to collect it and I have not unpacked it!! How long do I keep it before they can no longer take it back or charge me for it!!!
Thanks in anticipation of your help

I think prapps you ought to ring them, sorry to be a killjoy, only presumably they will have a record of the delivery to you and not just that, they did send you a new one out straightaway which is brilliant customer service.xXx-Sukysue-xXx0

Funnily enough, exactly the same happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I emailed them to say the items hadn't arrived - even though they showed on Amazon as being despatched nearly 2 weeks earlier.
Next day, they arrived. But by then Amazon had re-sent them, at zero cost. Once they arrived I just posted them back (it was freepost).0 -
I think they can charge you for it. I was just offered a replacement for an order and although the terms weren't entirely clear it seemed to indicate that I was liable to pay, I imagine this works in the same way.
Part of my e-mail:if the original order is not
returned within 30 days of the replacement date, we reserve the
right to charge your payment card for the value of the original

Something similar happened to me with printers quite a while ago and I looked into the laws concerning unsolicited goods etc. Legally it isn't unsolicited goods as it is a mistake with a company you have an existing relationship with. You can keep the goods after six months if they do not make any attempt to collect it or arrange for it to be delivered/collected. But, and here is where you're going wrong, that's ONLY provided you personally make reasonable attempts to inform the company. What is reasonable is subjective but making no attempt at all to inform Amazon definitely won't cover you.
At the moment I've got a small fridge that was meant to be replaced, the replacement came but the company didn't bother arranging to get the other one back so we've got two fridges. In that circumstance the company knew directly (by telephone and email conversation) that there was a fridge to collect. They have made no effort to arrange collection so under those circumstances I could be reasonably be expected to keep that second one as something like 18 months/ 2 years has elapsed.
So moral is, you do have to inform Amazon of the mistake otherwise you can't reasonably be expected to be allowed to keep the second cleaner."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
