Prudential Pension Transfer

Do Prudential support electronic transfers when moving one of their pensions or is it paperwork based please?

Thanks in advance.

I expect they have a range of different policies on different systems so there is no one answer to that. Look at the Pru LGPS AVC thread for an indication of their appalling administration.

Most of their plans use the origo system.  A smaller number, often administrator controlled, will use the old paper method

  • Thanks - it's an old with-profits fund pension with a selected retirement date fairly soon so will email them to ask.

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to say to the Pru transfer the pension on the selected retirement data (so the MVR can't be applied). If it then takes a month to be transfered (and it is likely that it will), it doesn't matter so much.

Don't delay asking the Pru to do anything.

The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Thanks for this - will contact them now. Hope it's all relatively straightforward.

Do not be surprised by the length of time it may take to get an answer, although you may be lucky.

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
  • Thanks, have tried to contact them twice over the last couple of weeks but not even had an acknowledgement let alone a response yet.
