Quick question!!

I know you have to go throught the CSA if your partner is being a total !!!! and refusing payment. But if they were being amicable with you, when do you have to contact CSA (I.E, what benefits must you be claiming which mean you have to contact them?)

I would be receiving CTC and WTC and council tax reduction. Does this mean I would have to go through the CSA?

Thanks..x

You can use the CSA at any time, you don't have to get benefits to use their service.

No in your circumstances you do not need to go through the CSA. Only if you are getting INcome Support will you be obliged to claim.

My mum has been on Income Support ever since I was born (I think maybe even before) and my mum and dad split up when I was three (they were never married).

My dad refused to pay maintenance for me. My mum didn't know she could have been entitled to use the CSA.
Sometimes it can be good to get all the help you need. :)

I'm 21 now and my dad has never paid a penny towards me.

    xx

As your mum was on IS tbh she would not have seen much of CSA payments even if your father had paid.
