Good morning, it looks dry outside, thank heavens, I might get some washing out.Yesterday wasn't a bad day but we were out all morning, and I didn't get any washing done. Not much on the agenda today, but I must crack on with the tree skirt for Dd's tree, they've actually got the tree out ready to go up!It was nice of you to give food away and offer cooking lessons Taff, how kind.TA, our cats were fussy, it's maddening (and expensive) One of our cats would only eat fish, so I used to buy the cheapest frozen fish and microwave it. They train us into giving them exactly what they want.Thinking of our poorly and sad people today.Hope everyone has a good Saturday, take care folks.11

Morning all. Thanks for starting us off Scarlet.Yesterday was very cold and rainy. I arrived in Glasgow in good time to collect my JL order from Waitrose. The hygienist appointment was good until I was just about to pay when a white filling at the back of one of my front teeth fell out. 😱 It was very old and the vibrations of the cleaning thing loosened it more. At least I was still at the surgery. The hygienist put in a temporary filling and I was given an appointment in mid December for the permanent one. Cue two hours later when the temporary repair dropped out too. 😀 I'm now on the list to get word of any cancellation before my appointment. It's not painful and can't be seen so am content to wait though I'll make sure it is given extra cleaning. The loss of the filling didn't spoil my afternoon at the theatre. I'm so pleased that I made the effort to see House of Mormon, it was so outrageously funny and so well performed that it really cheered me up. I especially enjoyed the 'hell nightmare' sequence. 😂
I was lucky enough to find a parking space really close to the theatre but driving the nine miles to Alan's house took me 55 minutes. My mind had forgotten about the horrors of rush hour traffic and driving in dark wet conditions. Happily I was greeted with a glass of wine, a ham risotto and great company.Today I'll be doing food shopping as my fridge only has tins of tonic water, a jar of mayonnaise and one of mustard in it. Then I'll be heading home. I'll be ready to watch SCD by my fireside.Scarlet- I hope that you can finish the tree skirt today.Ditto to Taff and your curtains.Happy Saturday to all.11 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I think we are forecast a bit of a drab day so typical November weather hereabouts.
I think I might trip along the valley bottom this morning for a change. I think the market will be on but sadly it's not a very exciting one. I'll take Dolly Trolley with me just in case I am tempted by anything weighty. I shall be on the lookout for any likely Xmas gifts too.
TAFF we are on an even keel with Sparkle feeding just now so I won't rock the boat. Actually James Wellbeloved did me a favour by no longer supplying their indoor cat complete as, after trial and error, she is now happily munching away on the Harringtons variety which are much cheaper! And she is still enjoying her Perfection daily tuna treat as well. So all is well for now! When did cats get so fussy, I'm sure cats we had in the past just ate anything that was put down!
GERS glad you finally got to see H of M and it was worth the wait. Sorry about the filling. Have a good day all and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. And the MIA. Take care and be safe xx

Morning All
So glad you enjoyed the B of M Gers, you're right, it was outrageous. Hope you don't have any problems with the missing filling.
It's dry for now, I have the bedding in the WM and will hang it out. Probably won't dry but will give it a go. I've done the odd bits of washing up, usually everything goes in the DW but there were a few bits to wash but not worth filling a bowl of hot water. Anyway, that's done and the fridge has had a good wipe out too.
Shopping this morning, like you TA I'm hoping to pick up some Christmas presents although there aren't too many to get. May sort out what I have and do some of the dreaded wrapping later.
Keep going with the curtains taff, it'll be worth it in the end.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX

Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x Happy sewing!
So glad you enjoyed HoM @Gers but sorry to hear about the filling. Your friend Alan sounds lovely x
I too have been sewing/mending. A side seam on a dress I bought in a charity shop, a side seam on a fitted t-shirt, the strap on my Harris tweed rucksack/handbag, DH's trouser seam on one of his suit trousers and finally the cuff on my work trenchcoat. The trenchcoat was a bootsale purchase of £5, is M&S and really good quality. I also sewed in 30 tailends on a crochet blanket I'm making for DS2 for Christmas. I didn't want to leave them all to the end as it's 162 rows big (plus 4 borders!).
I'm off to FC shortly - hoping for a loss as put on a lb last week. If I can lose that and a bit more I'll be happy. Still hoping to be at or very near to target before Christmas. I'm not staying to group as I'm going to a Christmas craft fayre with a friend after, then my DSis is coming this afternoon. Tomorrow we need to go sofa shopping AGAIN! Could not make it up and so many things I'd rather be doing than that, especially at this time of year!
Have a good day all,

Morning everyone - raining again here!
It poured for most of yesterday but did stop for a short while in the afternoon so the children got a play out on the yard and we played some games. They get very restless when they've been indoors all morning!
This morning I'm helping at an event just a ten minute walk away - warm clothes have been donated over the last month and today they can be collected by anyone who can use them...apparently there are loads. So I'm going this morning to help sort them out.
Later little one will be coming and will stay overnight. I taught her how to play Snakes and Ladders the other day so no doubt we'll be playing that again - she likes to land on the snakes head so she has to slide back down!
Eldest DD sent me photos of it snowing in Nuremberg - she says its very cold. They're busy setting up for the Christmas market - it starts next weekend I think.
Gers pleased you enjoyed your show - lovely to have company afterwards.
Hope the Christmas shoppers get what they're looking for. I've got my presents for little one and great nephew but need to get organised for everyone else. I'm best at buying toys!
Well I'd better move as I have a couple of jobs to do before I go out. Hope everyone has a good day today x11 -
