Sorry it's been ages since I've posted on here. I had a good Christmas but work-wise this year is looking a little sparse at the moment. On a positive note, I've been happy with my progress in getting the debt down - it currently stands at £5859, and at the rate I'm going I'm aiming to pay this all off by the end of the year. I won't be debt free in time for my 40th birthday in July but I definitely aim to be debt free before 41!

I've been doing quite well on Prolific surveys, every survey I get paid for goes straight on one of my CCs. I've always sold lots of things on Facebook Marketplace but things seem a little bit slow this year, got a few things up and not even getting the timewasters contact me.

For the first time in 15 years of self-employment I paid my tax bill at the end of last year without having to take any money from my EF. Since I started actively trying to get my debt down, every time I get paid for a job I put 20-25% of this into a separate bank account. I really don't know why I didn't take this approach years ago! I've always had a separate account for my tax but I've only ever put dribs and drabs in there. I'd like to put a bit more aside for my EF but I'm going to concentrate on the debt for now.

I got a refund from my electricity company as I paid too much last year, which was expected. I was hoping to save this to put towards spending a bit of money on my kitchen which I've been meaning to upgrade for years, but unfortunately this has been swallowed up with general cost of living bills. My remortgage started in January with a higher interest rate plus I'm overpaying it by £50 a month too. Long term plan is to sell my flat and move somewhere cheaper and  get a house, but want to get all this debt sorted first!
