Looking for a 10inch drawing tablet for my son

My 11 year old son loves drawing and sketching. He has asked for a drawing tablet for Christmas. I have absolutely no idea about them. I am not sure how much to spend. Just needs to be a decent enough size. I have looked on Amazon. The prices range start around £40. Can anyone point me in the right direction of what I need to look for. I dont want something too complicated for an 11 year old. Thanks

  • Try a WACOM
They are easy to use and appear reliable
They cost slightly more than your £40 limit but you get what you pay for !

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Are you sure what they mean? A device to contact to a laptop/PC for drawing? Or a normal tablet that they'll use for drawing?

Assuming it is a graphic tablet they want then you dont actually need it to be too large as you are drawing on the screen not on the tablet so you move the curser to where you want to start and then put the pen down to draw in that area.

Would echo that Wacom are the main brand in this space, you can buy the Medium of the Wacom One for your price on Amazon. It is the lowest of the four tiers they offer but the others are much more expensive.

Does he use a particular graphics package? Worth checking its compatible before buying as the more budget options tend to be more limited on what it can work with. Does work fine with the likes of GIMP though.
