Morning folks. It's a chilly start here with no hope of any more warmth.
Some may remember that ages ago I was disappointed to find that the mugs I wanted to buy from M&S had been discontinued, well yesterday they were back on their website at a reduced price so I've ordered four. 😀 When I emptied the dishwasher yesterday I dropped a mug onto the others so chipped two of them which are now in the bin. A form of serendipity.
I also put on a white washing load and hung it in the back room on the airer. My summer tomato soup was surprisingly delicious, I wish I could remember the recipe though I suspect that I made it up.
This morning I'm off early doors. I've got a dental hygienist appoint before lunch and then it's my second attempt at seeing 'House of Mormon' this afternoon. Then I'm staying overnight with my old friend Alan, it'll be lovely to see him again.
Snoozer - I hope that Steve is doing much better. You certainly have your hands full just now.
Must crack on. Happy Friday to all.

Morning All
Still raining! This must be the longest wet spell we've had for a long time, if the sun is reading this - please make an appearance!
Washing up to date, just a couple of things on the airer struggling to dry. I do however, have a ton of stuff to fold and put away but that can wait until later when I'm home from work. I have the little one here on Saturday night so will go easy on the housework until she's left on Sunday.
Glad Steve is home Snoozer, hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Enjoy the Book of Mormon Gers, hope the wait is worth it. My postie doesn't say a word!
Well done on the Christmas shopping TA.
Friday at last, it seems to have been a long week, having an in service day on a Monday wasn't a good idea! Next week could be disjointed too if the teachers go on strike on Thursday.
Happy Friday. Take care. XX

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. Strange about your mugs, glad you're getting the ones you wanted anyway. Enjoy your day today.I don't think it's actually raining at the minute, but it will later, yesterday was a terrible day. I had to go out to the shops, and it was pouring. We are visiting an elderly friend this morning, and I'll take a little bit of shopping for her. She can't go out alone now because she doesn't walk very well , but she stays busy at home with various things. She has family and a lot of friends though, so does all right. That's it for today really, apart from jobs at home.Thinking of our poorly and fed up people - glad Steve's home Snoozer.Take care today folks.11

Morning all, pooch decided she wanted to get up early today so she's been outside and is drowsing again now.I didn't have a good night's sleep with various things swirling round my brain. I have my hairdresser coming later this morning, so I put a dye on yesterday. Not sure what we'll have for tea, it'll be late as we'll be out after school pickups. Plenty in anyway after my latest Oca do delivery yesterday, using the 1st of my vouchers for money off.Snoozer glad to see Steve is home.Gers enjoy your trip, and Camelot hope it stops raining for a bit when you have little one.Scarlet, nice of you to help your friend.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning folks and thanks GERS. Have a safe drive to Glasgow and enjoy the show at last!! After yesterday's torrential rain we are forecast a dry day but sadly no sun.
It's Friday Tidy day again. I'm sure we have 3 Fridays in a week. The dehumidifier got lugged upstairs yesterday, one step at a time. I thought I had better speed read the instructions and it said it must remain upright for 24 hours before first use. As I had tipped the box almost upside down to slide it out I thought I had better do as told and delay switching it on till this morning. It says it's quiet so I hope it is.
Another delivery today but this time from Jollyes for Sparkle. A restock of her indoor cat biscuits and, stand back in amazement, they were one of the few things actually cheaper than last time! £1 off a bag so I took advantage and ordered 2. As is par for the course with this cat she will now probably decide she doesn't like them any more! Don't ask me how much cat food has gone in the animal charity collection box at the sm since I got her!
Have a nice day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up and MIA. SNOOZER I hope Steve is soon back on his shoeless feet and life gets a bit easier for you. Take care one and all and be safe x

Morning and thanks for the thread @Gers - I smashed a glass whilst drying up last night so can sympathise! Oh well, it's made some room in the cupboard!
Didn't manage to get on yesterday - weather was foul and I was in the London office, so just didn't catch a break. WFH today. Need to research new sofas as the ones they delivered in October need to go back as the armchair doesn't match! - photo on the website is completely different to the item we received, doesn't match and is apparently the correct one for that range? We will go sofa shopping on Sunday instead of meeting up with friends - could do without it but needs must.
Dinner tonight is grilled Donald Russell pork chop and veg - looking forward to that.
Hope @snoozer's Steve had a comfortable night - not easy, and hugs to little Esben x
Enjoy the show @Gers and your time with Alan x
Sorry if I've missed any news - will attempt to read back now.
Have a good day all

Morning all
Its actually not raining ! More due on Sunday though and next week, when collecting my client yesterday the flooding was so bad I was not sure I would make it through, it was quite unnerving the water was at least two feet deep in many places.
Day off today and I am going to get my nails done this morning and then this afternoon have my electrolysis, once back I intend to have a lazy afternoon on the sofa.
Dinner tonight will be either spag bol or chilli and rice will see what we feel like later, dw has been emptied this morning and I will have a quick tidy round.
Gers enjoy your show and seeing Alan xx
Have good days all xx7 -
Morning all. Wonder of wonders the fire stayed in enough last night to light some kindling from a very tiny ember. Makes my job easier today. We're supposed ot be delivering some stuff OH sold on ebay today, a bunch of 40k stuff, we'll see if he wakes up at the right time...It's sunny but blummin brrr this morning. Got my car back yesterday, how lovely not to be driving sitting on the floor and being able to step out and down rather than flop out and grunt until you've straightened up...I have some soft plastic to take to tesco [never made it that far yesterday] and some food to drop off. Someone actually asked for food on a local free site this week. My cupboards are groaning so I've filled a couple of bags and I've also offered cooking lessons when she's more together. Scan results are back, no blockages of any kind, so looks like it's medication for a while [ new appt in December]. OH was happy about that, me, not so much, because if theyw ere blocked, would have been fixable through stents...Now, obviously, it is not fixable so simply. He doesn't understand why I'm upset about it not being a blockage.Snoozer, glad Steve's home, let's hope there's no repeat...Gers, happy viewing second time lucky! TA, I give mine a quarter of a tin of tuna each a day, they don't complain about the biscuits they eat anymore like they used to..would something like that work? cost is about five or six pounds a week including biscuits for them both. Izzy, happy haircut! Coxy, good luck. I remeber the last time I went sofa shopping...I did not like it. Camelot, ::snort:: hope it is reading that...
Rosy, glad you're better...Ruby, enjoy your day off! Take care all, hope the interminable rain has stopped for all of you, it's just so messy...and cold....warm dry blankets to the poorly...

Hi everyone,
Coxy, it takes a lot to disturb Steve's sleep and his foot isn't it. Since it was drained it isn't painful so he's finding it very frustrating remaining immobile, Laura and I have to keep on his case because we know he'll make it worse if he's not careful.
We have a quiz tonight at Steve's golf club, last time they provided so much food for each table that we came home with huge chunks of cheese and slices of meat. Steve's been told that they won't provide as much this time so I hope they give us enough. It's also the quiz that has a buzzer round and the team make me do it so I'm a bit nervous.
Laura is still plodding along, she has a midwife appointment this morning so we hopefully we'll find out if it's imminent.
I want to do some sewing today, I have a quilt to finish for Christmas and want to make stockings for Nate and the new baby as well so I need to get on.
Have a good day.10
