in Cutting tax
Hi everyone,
Not sure if this is in the correct forum or not but hoping that someone can help me out with this query.
I have recently moved overseas permanently and no plans to return to the UK, so informed HMRC that i am moving and will no longer be a UK taxpayer. They gave the option to apply for a refund based on the tax paid this tax year.
I cant find a calculator that does a partial year calculation, but i think im due a refund based on the allowance being calculated for the entire tax year and i have only worked from April-Nov.
The figures from the HMRC Paye summary show the following for 5th April- 11th Nov.
Taxable Income- £64,513
tax paid - £19,262
Im (was) a resident in Scotland for tax.
It was a contract position and i was paid inside Ir35 through an umbrella company if that has any impact.
based on what is above, does anyone know enough about tax to know if there is an overpayment in tax?
thanks in advance

Based on what you've posted there will be a refund due as you won't have received the benefit all of your Personal Allowance.
Or starter rate band.
Or basic rate band.
Or intermediate rate band.0
