10.1% Increase in pensions (Budget)

My local train into the city is always packed on a morning, of course HS2 won't help that.

But, in theory HS2 will help that [assuming your "local train" is somewhere near the HSA line!]. Building HS2 removes many of the long distance trains (on to HS2) thus freeing up capacity on the existing lines to run more local, semi-fast or freight services.

Looking back, it appears that it was you who derailed ( ) the thread that was originally about whether the state pension increase would apply to other public sector ones, but then veered off into indignant HS2 soapbox territory....
