Morning folks.
The stars are twinkling in the sky this morning, one of my favourite sights of the day. Yesterday I spent some time rearranging my thoughts, pushing some right away and bringing others right to the front of my mind. It's so blooming annoying that one negative memory always pushes in to eat away the many good ones.
Today I'll get on with some household chores whilst waiting for a delivery. The postie is usually very grumpy which makes me feel better, he's polite but certainly not always a 'Postman Pat'. 😀
There's some summer tomato soup defrosting for today's lunch, it's about time it was eaten.

Happy Thursday to all.

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers - I was just dithering about starting off myself, but didn't want to cross post. It's pouring with rain here, I don't know if it's set for the day.I know what you mean about the negative thoughts cancelling out the positive Gers, I too try and "rearrange".Yesterday was an ok sort of day, we went to Dun*lm to look at ready made curtains for the bay window, I saw some I quite liked. They wouldn't be quite full length but I can live with that. I can make them, no problem, but fabric is such a price and it's a big window. I'm still debating.Talking about making, I'm making a Christmas tree skirt, one of those things that covers the metal stand of an artificial Christmas tree - I found a pattern in a craft book. This one is for Dd and family, they'll have their tree up soon. Think I'll make one for our tree as well.I'm waiting for news from Oz about the Christmas stockings that I made for my grandsons there, I reckon they should arrive sometime next week, I airmailed them.I know what you mean about hospital visiting Nels - a member of my DH's family used to visit her husband every single day from 11-8, and he was in for weeks. then he was moved to another hospital where the visiting was 3-8, still a long time though when you find yourself talking rubbish to fill the silences, and the poor patient has no news and probably just wants you to go home! This was before they had protected mealtimes as well..Hope your day went well yesterday Ruby.Sorry to hear that Steve was forgotten Snoozer, hope he is home soon, he must be fed up.Hope that you and Dgd enjoyed the show DP1.Coxy, thinking of you as the anniversary of your nephew's passing approaches, it's a difficult time.I know that I've missed people out , sorry about that, I should make notes as I read.I wonder if it's Meanmarie's husband who has passed away, poor souls.Hope everyone gets through their day though, take care folks.8

Morning All
Cold but dry so far this morning, I've been to look at the stars Gers and they are lovely but not such a good show as you will get. Hope your mood lifts and the not so nice memories disappear.
It's been a busy old week, work is mad, so much being thrown out and new stuff brought in, seem to have spent the last week or so being sent to shops although going on the bus for a couple of days seems to have stopped that!
Going to visit an old work colleague tonight with a present work colleague (turns out it's one of her friends) so should have plenty of chat.
Hope Steve is home soon Snoozer.
Sorry you didn't get to see your DM Nelski and hope she didn't catch the bug.
Glad your sewage problem is all fixed Ruby.
Oh dear Mehefin, hope it all works out.
Hugs to those in need.
Right, off for another day in paradise, take care. XX8 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Sadly no stars twinkling here as it's raining. I know just what you mean about the negative memories shoving the nicer ones to the back.
I didn't get very far with my Christmas shopping yesterday despite my good intentions. My legs are not up to trailing around these days so I ended up back in Ilkley in my current favourite "go to" shop (Yorkshire Soap Co) and got things for DS's DP's 3 late teens. I then decided I cba trailing around looking for suitable gifts for all the great nephews and nieces I buy for so I bought some Xmas money wallets and will give them the cash instead. Still immediate family to buy for so might make another foray on Saturday.
Despite changing the delivery day for my dehumidifier to today it was delivered after I got back yesterday afternoon! It's still sitting in the hall boxed up so that will be my first job this morning. I can't believe how heavy it is so it will be a struggle getting it up the stairs I think.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up and MIA.
ps I wondered if it was MARIE's DH too Scarlet and she's far from well herself. Sad times."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
Hi everyone,
No, it isn't Marie's husband. The lady in question lives in Northern Ireland and I think her username is something to do with that.
Steve is home - I collected him at 7pm but we still had to wait for the discharge letter and medication. He has to keep his foot up and not wear shoes for at least 2 weeks.
It is raining hard as if it won't stop today, I hate days like this but I have just been joined by a curly haired charmer wanting to dress in a superhero costume. His hair is growing into ringlets so he looks like Little Lord Fauntleroy, however he is now having the screaming abdabs over going outside.
He'll be going to nursery soon and the cleaner is due this morning as well, I might have to have a rethink about what she does with Steve lying in bed.
Mehefin, commiserations because I know it's not what you would have chosen for him.
Nelski, I'm sorry you weren't able to see your mum on her birthday.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning all...not raining quite yet but that's probably because after yesterday and last night, we;ve used all the water in the ocean. I must go out today, I'm drowning under a pile [ok, two big bags] of soft plastic that have to be dumped in Tesco, need to get some real cash out to pay the builder for half the wall, and drop some stuff to a CS. Salvation army is my one of choice because it's a] on the way up the road and b] realistic pricing and c] I like the people in there.. [curtains still not finished - I'm hating this job] To be fair though, I am totally procrastinating...Nuffin interesting today....Gers, i laughed at your grumpy postie. Our regular postie is a really lovely bloke, always really cheerful, unlike the semi regular other postie who is a right grumpy mare. Scarlet, I too went there and looked and wished for the magic fairy...
Commiserations ot those not feeling it today, I prescribe hot chocolate or mulled wine because why not....

Its been raining hard all night and there is now major flooding locally and more rain due todayits getting quite bad now !
Off to collect my private client today and go to ex work which is always enjoyablewill do some shopping afterwards.
Not sure whats for dinner tonight it depends on what I buy today but I might get something quick like filled pasta and salad.
Will have a quick tidy round this morning before I go, the dw has been emptied allready, and I will see if there is enough washing to put a load on.
It was not Marie's husband it was a poster who has not posted for ages and I cant remember her name either, all very sad though.
Coxy thinking of you, I think its something you never really get over xxx
Snoozer glad Steve is home xxx

Hello to all, sorry been MIA. DH has been at home with a nasty chesty cough. I wasn't too good myself on Tuesday with tum troubles & shivering.Don't know if it was a reaction to my jab on Monday. So no news of note! I wrote a few cards in the afternoon, and by yesterday felt back to normal.DS hasn't been working this week so yesterday he wanted something from the middle Al di aisle and asked if I wanted to go.I was glad to get out of the house to avoid the germs, and we also called at some other cheapie stores. There are quite a few along the same stretch of road leading out of the other side of town. Bought a few bits in each, preparing for DGS birthday next weekHope all is well, still catching up with the thread x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hello everyone
It started raining at teatime yesterday and has poured all day and is still pouring. Some thunder through the night too.
Little one loved the show yesterday - so did I! - though she was quite worried before it started that she would be scared of the giant. I kept explaining that it wouldn't be a real giant with her saying that of course it would be cos it was a story about a real giant....it started and it was a man with a big head on. Little one said - in a rather loud voice - oh granny you were right it's not a real giant! She commented every time they said something that wasn't actually in the book or if there was the slightest deviation from the story ...the grandad in front of us thought she was hilarious.
She stayed with me last night but didn't wake too early - 'granny the clock says six three six so it's morning!' She came in with me for a cuddle and a chat.
Worked this afternoon then popped up to Aldi with DD as I needed fruit and bread - I was very good and almost just got what I needed.
Going to get my dishes washed and put my pyjamas on x6
