    Go to B+Q and buy some Space Board (made by Knauff), and use that - it's 2 inch thick polystyrene boads faced with chipboard. Avoid the use of cardboard, sheep wool, etc, these are liable to attract insects and vermin.

    Contact your council and ask about insulation grants.

    All my tenants seem to qualify for 100% grants via the council in our area supplied and fitted.
