So fixed rates unlikely to drop below 6% in the the next couple of months? I was hoping for 5-6% when my fix is up for renewal in February. 

Which LTV and fix length?

Mortgage rates for both fixed and variable (talking about margins here not the actual rates) have been slowly and steadily going downwards since the bank rate hike 2 weeks ago and you now have multiple large banks offering 5 year fixed a touch lower than 5%.
