Would the portfolio be on the OP's statement?
Mine don't go into that detail and just say .. "Your retirement savings are invested in the Cautious
    Tracker Lifestyle Strategy
." On my online page the actual funds and values are listed under "INVESTMENTS".

The fund is on the statement but there will be a fund factsheet for it available.
For example:  https://www.royallondon.com/strategyfactsheets/strategyfactsheet.asp?InvestmentType=F&strategyid=9#:~:text=This Lifestyle Strategy is designed, all contributions to your plan.

There will also be more in depth documents for the rare consumer that likes reading dozens of pages on things they dont understand.

What you actually mean is that the investments in your RL pension, lost less than the investments in your Aviva pension. It is the investments within the pension where your money is.
Anyway looking at one year tends to distort the picture. You should also compare them over 3 or 5 years,or even longer. You might find overall the investments in the Aviva pension did better ( or maybe not)

To be honest my pension pot was 540k went down to 470k now back up a bit in the last 2 weeks to 491k
every month the fees come out but seems I just have to bare with it
I’m 61 and don’t need to touch my pot till I’m 67 but just hope we don’t get bashed by the budget where I read they may do away with the 25% tax free but
    who knows
All pensions have fees, if the provider did not charge for their services they would go bankrupt !
The trick is to not pay too high fees.

Getting rid of the 25% is one of the least likely things to be announced. It would be deeply unpopular, as many lower paid workers see it as an end of work bonus.

Yesterday my Hennessy alcohol tasted a lot better than my Carlsberg alcohol.

Regardless which broker and how many brokers you use, what’s important is that you treat all your investments as a single portfolio.

The way to do it is by deciding what risk and asset allocations are appropriate, what is your investment  strategy and priorities and then implement by buying specific products which, between them, meet your needs.  And then it becomes irrelevant how Hennessy performs vs Carlsberg or if your left pocket wins in loose change collection over your right one.

Personally I don’t like RL portfolios because they are misleadingly named and use a lot of illiquid assets.
