Good morning folks.
It's so dark, miserable and uninviting outside. I'll write more once I'm up.

Morning all
Pouring with rain here and set in for the dayI have two clients coming today and luckily we planned going to a local garden centre and looking at the lovely Christmas display they have there and then having lunch in the cafe so at least we will be under cover.
I have to take mum to hospital later to have her jab in the eyeshe says its not painful at all but last time she had a funny turn and nearly fainted so she is quite nervous about it not suprising really.
DD and I went out yesterday Christmas shopping we got quite a few bits and I think I am nearly there, one more trip out should do it, then its the dreaded wrapping !
Dinner tonight will be fahita bowls, I saw the kit in the shop and they look easier to eat than normal fahitas so will give them a go.
Snoozer sorry to hear Steve has been unwell xxx
Nels I hope mum had a good Birthday xx
Have good days all xxx11 -
Morning everyone
Dull and dreary here - it's not raining yet but forecast to later.
Nelski - sorry you didn't get to see your mum on her birthday.
Snoozer - hope Steve is feeling better
Redruby - enjoy your day with your clients
I'm going into town to get my hair cut this morning and have a prescription to collect while I'm there. Then work at lunchtime.
Yesterday I worked all day then fell asleep on the sofa for half an hour when I got in!
Well, I better get sorted. Hope everyone has a good day today x13 -
Morning folks and thanks for the start GERS. After two full days (and nights) of fog it has now cleared - and we have rain! The summers day we had on Saturday is almost forgotten!
It's Tuesday again so it's coffee then lunch day with BFF. The poor weather might keep folk indoors so it could be quiet.
I finally started my search online yesterday for a dehumidifier for the back bedroom (winter washing drying room!) I waded through loads of reviews till I was bogeyed and finally ordered one. It's due for delivery before the end of the week.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up and MIA. NELS such a shame you couldn't visit your dm on her birthday. I hope she avoids the bug. SNOOZER fingers crossed you got Steve home. GERS I hope you are having a better day and to answer your question - yes it's still top of the favourite food list and was enjoyed by them both yesterday! Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning all. It's been raining here since I woke up.
Yesterday's walk was just over 5 miles and not too muddy. Lunch was fine, although it was a funny little old pub and we were somewhat squashed in part of the room when the rest of the space was available
The Medical Detection dogs talk was very interesting. Apparently dogs have a wonderful sense of smell and they hone this by doing clicker training and always rewarding with treats. Used initially to detect prostate cancer but now being used for conditions such as diabetes (to prevent hypos) and also to passively detect Covid 19 in queues of people, although this is still undergoing clinical trials.
Today I need to get some food shopping then DH says he is going to make and freeze sausage rolls, ahead of Christmas. We also have a video call with Australia at 10am so need to get a move on.
Have a super day everyone.11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
Didn't manage to post yesterday as I was in the London office. Hugs to @snoozer's Steve and @Nelski's DMum. Also hope your DMum gets on okay at the appointment later @RedRuby1231.
Oh dear @mehefin
I was on the train home yesterday and lady sitting next to me got off and left a bag of Itsu sushi (2 large packs) on the floor. I only realised after we'd started moving again. I brought them home and gave one to DS1 for his lunch today (when he dropped pup off) and I will have the other. Really weird as I looked in Itsu at Victoria station before getting on the train. Had it been something else like a handbag, phone or laptop I'd have handed it in, but what to do with fresh food? Dinner tonight is spaghetti, meatballs and HM arrabbiata sauce.
I've some bits to list on bay of E today - need to take some decent photos but not easy at this time of year when the weather is so gloomy. I've washing on that will go on the airer in the spare room shortly.
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Morning all.Yes, it's raining...Luckily managed to get the curtains off the line yesterday before it hissed down , they're now slung over dorrs and the bannister to dry there. I;ve made my plan, got my extra material and will be starting on the little ones in a bit. The brickie knocked my pillar down yesterday so I now have more room to park, looks alright but I did knacker my hand up yesterday moving the bricks he knocked off. Poor luv, it's hammering and he's still working in the cold and the wet. I need to go out and get some flea stuff from the vets, the cats are scratching, and I've sold something on ebay and on fbmp so they need ot be posted/picked up. No cooking today, still got leftovers, might be a bubble and squeak later with some pork. OH is on lates so no need to cook for him.Nels, that's a shame, hope she avoids the bug too...Ruby, hope your mother is ok this time and good to hear you have a date even if the timing could have been different. WL, the talk sounds good , really interesting about the capabilities of animals that hasn't been stretched yet..Coxy, well done on your impromptu anti-shopping...Gers, well done on the doing, you overcame inertia
[but then I class gardening as fun time, even the horrible bits] TA, happy socialising! Take care all, shout out to the ones under the weather...

Morning all wet and miserable here today but only housework to do so not a problem . This morning has been discussion with our friends re our holiday to Thailand in March as our flights have been changed and we now fly to Singapore with a 5 hour layover then on to Bangkok i did ask about business class but at £5k each its a definite no so we will look at extra legroom i honestly think i am getting too old for this long haul still it will be worth it once we get there its just the sitting in one place for so long that worries me
Nels Sorry you didn't see mum yesterday i hope she manages to avoid the bug
Ruby Hopefully mums appointment goes ok for her
Snoozer Hoping Steve can come home and is on the mend what a worry for you
NRA Fingers crossed you get a sale soon
Right have a good day whatever you are up to stay safe dry and warm x

After a wee snuggle under the duvet with the electric blanket on I made it up and out of bed! Sometimes it's so tempting to stay there but I'd be bored in a few minutes.Ruby - I hope that you DM is OK after what sounds like a horrible procedure.DP1 - this type of weather encourages afternoon naps.TA - it's great that the DGD still love their Gran's pasta bake, it'll be a memory for them when they are ageing. I still remember my DM making me my favourite meal of pork chop (with kidney on) in breadcrumbs with red cabbage. My mouth waters at the thought of it. I've had a dehumidifier for many years and wouldn't be without one now, especially as winters have got wetter.WickedLady - dogs are amazing animals, I remember one that a woman brought to my local swimming pool. She had epilepsy which the dog could detect up to half an hour before an attack. When it barked she got out of the pool, wrapped herself up in various blankets and towels and lay down on the deck for safety. Staff would then gather round to protect her from view as she fitted. Brilliant.Nelski - I hope that your DM had a lovely day despite not seeing you or getting her presents.Coxy - well done on not adding to the food waste pile. I'd have done the same, but not for fish.Taff - I didn't so much overcome inertia but annoyance. It would have been lovely to keep doing nothing but everytime I went into the kitchen for another hot drink the sight of the long grass cheesed me off. Lesser of two evils.Today I'm going to face the rain and wind and fog to visit an elderly friend who is in hospital. He's the father of the chap up the hill and responsible for me being in my lovely home. I'm a tad wary as my DM hated anyone to see her being so frail but I've been asked to go in to see him so I will, it'll be a pleasure.12

Morning all. Lovely day in London, saw the Re-imagining musicals exhibition at the V and A. Had lunch there too in a beautiful cafe, very ornate.
had a good walk round, coffee in Fortnums, no shortage of money being spent there.
Legs and feet sore when we got home, but so enjoyable.
