My washing was hung outside for a couple of rain-free hours though didn't dry, not even a little bit. At least it all got that lovely outdoors smell before being hung on the airer with the dehumidifier on for a wee while. The bedroom window wouldn't open, I must have closed it too harshly the other day.Last night I had tears all during SCD and then the Festival of Remembrance, not floods just trickles. SCD was wringing out the emotion by the bucketload and then later I was remembering my beloved Dad, and one of his brothers who has a war grave in Italy. The ending of the service is always so poignant. Anyway, I slept well afterwards. There'll be no shopping or washing today. I really want to go for a walk even though it's so difficult for me now. By the time it becomes painful I need to be near home so it's gauging how far I go.When I'm in town, especially a big one, I can always rest on benches or sit in a cafe for a few minutes, it's not so easy in my lovely countryside. Swings and roundabouts,For now I wish everyone a happy Sunday.8

Morning All
Thanks for starting Gers, I would imagine you're getting your coffee.
Lovely day yesterday with the family, house now has those feminine touches and everyone seems to be very happy, the DGC are delighted DS1's partner is there too. The children all played really well, I had taken some rocket launchers (the sort you stamp on) that they enjoyed playing with although the grass was really long and wet so I had to borrow a pair of socks and go home in my slippers! I have a great video of DGS teaching the little one to do the Macarena.
Washing is out, the bed has been stripped and all the windows are open for some much needed fresh air, it may be a housework day although I desperately need to do some shopping this morning.
Sorry to hear Steve is unwell snoozer, hope he recovers quickly.
Yuk Ruby, hope that's all sorted soon.
Have a peaceful Sunday. Lest we Forget. Take care. XX7 -
Morning everyone
Very foggy here this morning - complete contrast to yesterday when it was sunny and mild all day. Hoping it cheers up as I have washing to dry.
Sat outside and had a long chat with DD in Germany - she's feeling a bit down as her best friend there has left to work in Dubai. She's busy training for a pole dancing competition in Amsterdam in December so that should help distract her. She's already been looking at flights to Dubai in February or March next year.
Little kitten had a lovely time playing with the leaves in the garden while I was outside - she's been really good and staying in the garden. She's only jumped over the fence into next door's garden once and couldn't work out how to get back again so I had to go and rescue her.
Going to hoover downstairs and then I'll get dressed and go down to sit with dad while mam is at church. Will probably walk down to DDs and see little one after she gets home from her daddys - other than that a quiet afternoon.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning...It's still quite warm here. Spent yesterday morning weighing and chopping and making the puds, the rest of the day steaming them, but they're there now and waiting to be wrapped to put under the stairs. I sliced a bit off the bottom of one to try and I think I should have put more rum in but they're lighter than the ones I usually have so far. My cousin has asked about a cake..My father usually made five or six of them for presents and I know his best friend loved them so I've asked my sister to photogrpah the recipe in the book where's he's altered it over the years and I'll give it a go. I've got enough sultanas to sink a ship here anyway
They'e christmas cakes but he decorated them like Dundee cakes. Still have curtains to sort out and I have aquired another pair for free, they are massive though. I'm going to need a bigger sewing machine....
[I won't, it's just a Jaws reference...] Started watching the Lord of the Rings series last night, it's OK so far,,,Roast pork today so I'll be putting that in a bit for a few hours. Oven on today for the whole experience but it's gas, so there is that...
Snoozer, sorry to hear about Steve, the NHS is just fab isn't it, for swinging into action in emergencies. Hope he's better today. camelot, glad the party went well and congratulations ot happylivingtogether couple...Ruby, hope your sewage has been sorted...on the plus side the grass will love it eventually [I'm still gagging though...] Gers, I was shopping in the sm on Friday morning and the whole place stopped at 11 for two mintues silence. I was expecting at least a couple of people to ignore it but they didn't. The entire sm was silent in respect. Hope everyone is doing as well as possible, hugs for thems thats not...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi6 -
Morning all
Its a bit dull and overcast here but the sun is due out later, OH has his work clothes in the wm so hopefully we can hang them out for a while. Southern water did not come out yesterday so the garden is still out of bounds at least for the dogs, im hoping they come today !
I finished painting the lounge walls yesterday and it looks much fresher just need to order the new sofa.
I had a letter from the hospital yesterday with the date for my op its on the 20th Decwhich means I will be out of action all over Christmas I am supposed to have complete bed rest for the first two weeks but I am hoping to be able to come down and sit on the sofa for xmas day, we were going to my sisters for the day but will now stay at home and have a quiet one, we may not even have a Christmas dinner as I was so sick for weeks after my last op that I just could not face eating
although I may get a small piece of turkey just in case we do want a dinner. It will be a quiet Christmas for sure !
Housework to do this morning and then we will get the dogs out for a good walk.
Have good days all xx5 -
Morning and thanks for the start @Gers. Glad you got to rebook BOM.
I put on 1lb this week - not amused but onwards! Need to food shop today - just mainly fruit and veg as we have a lot of meat in the freezer. I defrosted the kitchen freezer yesterday - iceberg at the top meant I couldn't even open the top drawer. Must try to do it more often! Extreme ironing on the cards for later.
Dinner tonight is Quorn cottage pie with carrot and swede topping. I've made it already and made a banana loaf whilst the oven was on. Just need to reheat the pie later and ping some veg.
Hugs to all those needing one.

Afternoon all
very moving services last night and this morning. We owe so much to our forebears.
lazy sort of day with leftovers from last night, no hardship as it was lovely.

Coxy - I think that changing the clocks back makes your body think "time to put on the weight to get through the winter". At least mine seems to operate that way. I don't even have to change what I eat for it to happen.2
