LIDL do boxes of fruit and veg for£1.50.
It is end of shelf life produce, so needs using in a day or 2 at most.
Contents vary obviously but ideal to make a stews or soup etc on the same day.
Added bonus, cuts back on food waste..

Have heard you need to be in the store early in the day, before these boxes are gone0

Maybe it differs to each store, I called in at my local one at between 5-6pm and they had a 6 boxes left. Contents didn't look too bad tbh.but you're right, it's pot luck.0

I love a YS as much as the next man, but I have never seen a Lidl f&v box I like the look of.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2 -
Ditto Rosa. They either look .....tired..... or there's too much of one thing in em. I've never bought one. If they were varied and fresh I would though.I'm unsure about my spine, I think it's holding me back.0

Prefer Aldi but when go to Lidl i've checked to see if they have such boxes, sometimes they do but the contents are pretty ropy and not worth paying for.

If they have produce that's varied and fresh, they want to sell it at the normal price. The box is a way of getting some money for something that's otherwise going in the bin.

Well, one of my friends has had some brilliant boxes.Alright very many of some items but that gets used fresh, turned into something else (like pickle) frozen, or given away.
she has been well pleased especially when things like pineapple or peaches come her way.
We don't have a Lidl close by but I was in one a couple of weeks age: no boxes.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Our Lidl has these - they tend to be out for ages, so not proving very popular. I think they are supposed to contain 5kg but ours are nowhere near that. I have bought a couple if they contain several things I wanted to buy anyway, but they do tend to contain a lot of the same things, often next to anther box containing a lot of a different thing! You would think they would spread the stuff out a bit. I am often tempted to do so myself!

Last time my OH managed to get us one was back in August.
It contained:
2x 300g packs of Dulux marvelous tomatoes1 pack of broccoli1 punnet of white grapes3 red onions9 white onions1 organic cucumber
6 apples2 lemons1 easy peeler
Wasn't bad for the £1.50 as I couldn't see anything wrong with any of the produce personally.
Since then my OH has seen them out a few times but commented to me that they weren't good produce. There is a difference between rescuing good food from being thrown and it being too far gone already and then trying to sell it anyway.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy2
